| | Kevin Krieg Family And Friends CD Kevin Krieg Discography of CDs
I was born in St. Louis, MO. Growing up, I really enjoyed listening to the jazz/blues records collected by my father and brother, gravitating to the guitar at 16 to pick up some of the sounds I liked. I soon was playing with groups in and around the St. Louis area, covering jazz, blues, rockabilly, country, and rock 'n roll. While working as a reporter at a small town radio station north of St. Louis, I began to write songs in the styles I came to love over the years, and after getting a great local response, I came to Los Angeles in late 2002 to record the "Family and Friends" cd. Fortunately, I hooked up with some very talented people before making this record. Rob Mullins is a grammy nominated piano player who plays some rippin' stuff. Lee Spath (Malt, Robert Cray) handles the drums, and Drew Daniels plays bass. This music is all about creating a good time for everybody. I know you'll enjoy it. ----Kevin Family And Friends Music | Category | Blues Albums | | Label | Kevin Krieg | | Orig Year | 2003 | | CD Universe Part number | 7189142 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Sep 12, 2003 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Recording Time | 48 minutes |

Digitally remastered by Suha Gur (Universal Music Group Studios).
Prior to Eric Clapton's pop- and MTV-driven mid-'80s work, he spent the '70s and early '80s playing languid, singer-songwriter soft rock evocative of J.J. Cale and Don Edwards. But Clapton always kept one foot in the blues of his youth. BLUES brings this material together in one place and throughout, Slowhand taps into an inner spirituality that does these blues standards well.
The first disc contains studio recordings that include tributes to many influences including Elmore James ("The Sky Is Crying") and Willie Dixon ("Meet Me [Down At the Bottom]"). Most impressive is a stripped-down version of Little Walter's "Mean Old World," in which Clapton and Duane Allman duet using National steel and slide guitars. The tempo picks up during an alternate version of Bo Diddley's "Before You Accuse Me" that becomes a rollicking shuffle and a cover of Muddy Water's "Blow ...
