Andromeda's members (Evan Harlan on accordion, Andrew Blickenderfer on bass, Ima Jonsdottir on violin and Adam Larrabee on banjo, guitar and mandolin) have performed throughout the world and in some of the most prestigious venues/festivals. The various artists and ensembles with whom they have appeared include: Luciano Pavarotti, Björk, Bruce Hornsby, Dave Douglas, Bela Fleck, Dave Holland, and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. These and other groups have taken them to the Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, the MTV Music Awards, the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Place d'Arts in Montreal, and the Sydney Opera House. Andromeda themselves have played numerous venues in the Northeast including a 2003 run of Snow in June at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA. Barry White's ALL-TIME GREATEST HITS contains the original single versions of his classic solo hits, as well as two songs White performed as the lead vocalist of the Love Unlimited Orchestra. All tracks were previously released on the 20th Century Records label.

It took quite a while for a definitive Barry White compilation to hit the market, but All-Time Greatest Hits -- part of Mercury's Funk Essentials series -- finally filled the bill in 1995. Boasting a full 20 tracks from White's heyday of 1973-1978, more than half of which made the R&B Top Ten, All-Time Greatest Hits is easily the most generous single-disc White collection on the market. It includes the edited single versions, not the full-length album tracks, which actually makes for a more digestible introduction to White's achievements. Sam Cooke's death in 1964 left a huge void in the world of soul music not filled until Al Green's breakthrough in the early '70s. Although many great male soul singers came and went in the years following Cooke's death, none came close to the smooth and creamy style that translated to consistent cross-over success. While Otis Redding was gritty and James Brown relentless, in Green's hands, R&B was sophisticated and suave. GREATEST HITS basks in a style of sultry soul that Green inherited from Cooke.
Yet, Green's style owed as much to producer Willie Mitchell's delicate production as it did to the singer's pure falsetto. While not inclined to use the vast numbers of musicians that Phil Spector did, Mitchell's use of James Mitchell (no relation) and Charles Chalmer's string arrangements, the Memphis Horns and the background vocals of Rhodes, Chalmers and Rhodes gave Green's songs a full sound that wrapped itself around Green's aching emotivity.
