Hung Well album
$13.09 With most contemporary country artists, you could guarantee that a song called "American Ride" would be a slice of jingoism, but Toby Keith isn't like most country singers. His "American Ride" casts a cynical eye at desperate housewives and wannabe pop stars, not celebrating down-home values but wondering where we're all headed on this American Ride at the end of the 2000s, a sentiment not all that far removed from some of Keith's previous social commentary, which makes it a mild surprise that it is the only song here that doesn't come from his own pen. As superb and striking as it is, it's not necessarily a good keystone for the rest of the record, which does have a few tougher numbers that pick up on the lean, mean vibe of 2008's THAT DON'T MAKE ME A BAD GUY -- "Every Dog Has Its Day," the sly "If I Had One," and ...

Hung Well CD music
$13.85 It's hard to not be impressed by the sheer sonic onslaught that is otherwise known as Nile. Except to the most hardened death metal fanatic, the genre has a way of sounding the same after a while, but Nile is one of the few exceptions -- able to put their own unmistakable fingerprints on this heavy duty style (Egyptian-influenced lyrics and musical ...

| | Time Of Need New Day CD (2003)
Hung Well CD music
$14.79 Eight years since the hard-core/metal band Time Of Need first formed, they have managed to reach many goals set forth by themselves. Most impressive of those goals would be the completion of their fifth album titled "A New Day". "To be able to have the fan support to make five albums means a lot to us." Says Heaps, guitarist and lead vocalist of the band. "We have managed to make a nice name for ourselves over the years, our album sales are at a point where we can afford to make each album just a little bit better than the last. We have no label support or anything like that, so everything we do is on our own. I guess we are a little more blessed than some to be able to make an album that costs us ten thousand dollars. I know for a lot of bands on certain labels, that's not a lot of money to put into a CD, hell that is probably one day's worth of recording for them, but for us it's a lot of money!" It doesn't take long to realize Time Of Need sets their standards a little higher than most unsigned talent that exists today. Time Of Need has always been about making the heaviest, insane music they could but after hearing a few songs off of "A New Day", it's clear that they have also complemented the mix with melody. The songs off of this album leave quite an impression; they have that "something" that leaves you humming them in your head for hours after listening to them. "Adding hooks to the songs was something we really focused on this time around. We felt that was a major element to our writing we never took advantage of before. Adding a more defined hook and a better sense of melody was definitely a much higher priority this time around." Adds Heaps. The band also sought out the familiar settings of Trax East studios and producer Erik Kovortek, who produced the bands last album "Seen Through A Shadow". "No doubt having Erik there for the second time helped us to make this album that much better. It's so much more than the normal local band going to record a few songs at the local studio with someone who may or may not be into the style of music they play." Says Heaps. If you ever get the chance to see this quartet out of Allentown, PA perform live, do so! The energy that the band puts into each song they perform invigorates the crowd. You can't help but move your body in some way while watching them. The band commands that with such a lively stage presence. Their insane live performance and loyal local following gave the band the opportunity to open for a few well known national acts in 2002. Sharing the stage with such bands as: 40 Below Summer, Candiria, Diecast, Catastrophic and hard-core legends Biohazard, really helped to boost the band's already growing fan base. 2002 was also a year in which the band changed their lineup by replacing ex-guitarist Mike Ernstam with current guitarist John Parker. "Parting ways with Mike after almost two years together wasn't the easiest of things to do but it was what needed to be done. Our creative differences were just starting to become more and more apparent in the writing process, so the only fair thing to do was to part ways. We did, however, get very lucky by finding John as a replacement. He adds that little something we were missing, his creative instincts and energy on stage really add to the band." Says Heaps. There is no doubt that 2003 will be the "year of the Need". This band seems to have all the elements needed to succeed; ...

| | Monkey Monks M CD (2001)
Hung Well album
$12.69 Monkey Monks sounds like there would be at least four to five members, but in reality it is one guy. Monkey Monks is the works of Koh Okada from California. Monkey Monks has a very heavy sound mixing industrial and metal together. If you are into today's new metal sounds such as Slipknot and 80's heavy metal acts like Prong mixed with industrial programming, Monkey Monks is for you. Monkey Monks sound definitely is in your face, and definitely would get all your energy out and flowing. I feel like getting up and jumping when I have this CD on. Koh's vocals are heavily distorted around the fierce drumming, and grinding metal guitar sounds. Koh has been in metal bands in the past, so you can definitely hear his influences as he brings in powerful bass to the mix. He really has done an amazing job bringing everything together. His lyrics and distortions ...
| | Kunst Conspiracy Machination CD (2006)
Hung Well CD music
$10.09 Like a bullet greeting a deranged mind the sound of The Kunst Conspiracy is nothing less than a full frontal assault on the audio senses. The name of the band was chosen to describe their disturbingly harsh yet artistically beautiful sound that they could produce. Never writing a song that sounds similar to the last, TKC is a conspiracy of sounds so to speak fixated in a musical form. Music being a form of art, the German word kunst (which means art) was incorporated into the name.In November of 2002 the band was formed by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist NiL in Greeley, Colorado under the moniker Kunst with partner in crime Sam L'Orange (guitar and vocals). In early 2003 the band released a five song demo entitled The Perfect Nothing and released it's first full length LP that ...
