Robert and Rita Pittman have been married for 21 years. They have one daughter Lindsey and one son Daniel. Through the years, Robert and Rita pursued many of their common interests, but it was not until after their children were grown that they proceeded with their lifelong musicalambitions. Robert began playing the guitar as a teenager. Later, after learning to play the keyboard, he continued to develop his abilities with the guitar. His ability to write lyrics and compose music is another dimension to his talents. Robert wrote the lyrics for seven of the songs and composed the music for all of the songs on their first album. He continues to write new songs for their live performances. Singing has always been a passion for Rita. She has been complimented all of her life on her talent. She likes to sing the songs made famous by Shania, Jo Dee, Faith, and many others, but she enjoys singing her songs the best. Rita loves to take a fresh new song and make it her own. Robert and Rita perform and record as Duece. Their first album "After the kids are grown" was a labor of love. It has received rave reviews from their fans. With most contemporary country artists, you could guarantee that a song called "American Ride" would be a slice of jingoism, but Toby Keith isn't like most country singers. His "American Ride" casts a cynical eye at desperate housewives and wannabe pop stars, not celebrating down-home values but wondering where we're all headed on this American Ride at the end of the 2000s, a sentiment not all that far removed from some of Keith's previous social commentary, which makes it a mild surprise that it is the only song here that doesn't come from his own pen. Twenty years after his group won a Jackson Music Award (Jackson, MS) for Pop Song of the Year, Larry Brewer of Madison, MS is still going strong. Brewer, who wrote the award-winning "Hello, Hello" for the Windows, is releasing his new self-produced solo project "World Going Crazy" on April 15, 2003. "This album is my best one lyrically," said Brewer. "As you get older, you mature," he said. "When you're younger, you like boy, girl stuff and you write a lot of love songs. This one is more about world issues and how I feel about the world. I think lyrically it is good." Contrary to what may be implied from the title, the CD has little to do with the war in Iraq. "I wrote this album around the time of (the) Columbine and Pearl (shootings)," Brewer said. "I watch a lot of CNN. I'm a news junkie. Some people may see the album and think it is about the war, but a lot of these songs were written three to four years ago. It absolutely can be applied to today too though." Brewer, who describes his music as pop-rock, traces his musical interests to his parents. His mother was into rock and his father was into country.
