Committed album
$19.95 Recorded between 1976 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Rob Kenner.
Can't Stop a Man collects some of Beres Hammond's biggest Jamaican hits, beginning with his first, "One Step Ahead" from 1976, a song produced by Willie Lindo. Moving chronologically through to 2003's sweet and infectious "Dancehall Vibes," which features Big Youth and is one of the highlights here, this two-disc set is a wonderful introduction to this woefully underappreciated singer and writer. With a voice that combines Marvin Gaye's subtle phrasing, Sam Cooke's easy charm, and the soulful power of a David Ruffin, Hammond has a talent for graceful, easy-flowing lovers rock, ...

After Epitaph's re-release of Millencolin's sophomore outing, Life on a Plate, became an unqualified success, the label decided to offer the band's other Scandinavia-only full-length, Tiny Tunes, to American listeners. Warner Bros. had expressed some displeasure regarding the debut's artwork and title, so after Millencolin's Swedish label home, Burning Heart, changed the record's cover and ...

Committed album
$13.05 It's rare for a legendary vocalist to sustain the quality of his music throughout his career, but Dennis Brown managed to. LOVE & HATE serves as a wonderful retrospective of his career. With ear-grabbing production by Niney, Tad Dawkins, Sly & Robbie, Joe Gibbs, and Dennis himself, this best-of is nothing short of breathtaking.

| | Wade Ogle Songs From Winter CD (2008)
Committed CD music
$10.15 Wade Ogle:Born February 21st, 1964. Purchased first guitar and amplifier at age 19 years. In 1987, formed first band, Declaration Of Love, with Paul Boatright (Faith Healers, Punkinhead) and Paula Frazer (Tarnation). 1988 saw the beginning of the infamous psyche rock group The Faith Healers (later Dali Automatic) with Paul Boatright, Brian Petty and David Garrett. Shortly thereafter their debut "Camera Psyche Soul Head" LP (now trading on eBay for $100+) was released. Numerous cassette and CD releases followed culminating with 1994's critically acclaimed "Kiss Yr Universe" CD. Relentless touring throughout the US during those years included touring dates with The Butthole Surfers, The Flaming Lips and several high profile opening slots (including one with a very young Radiohead). After the disbanding of Dali Automatic, Ogle released the solo cassette album The Everlasting Headphone along with an accompanying 7" record. Turning his back on rock bombast, Ogle formed the more subdued yet beautiful Honey Died who released 2 CD eps before disbanding. Ogle then formed the Delta Spacemen with guitarist Mathew Kesner...which was more of a return to his psychedelic rock band roots. Sadly, the band was never recorded. In 2000, after 13 years of continuous "get in the van" band life, Ogle stepped away from performing and recording altogether. Fast forward 7 years. Finding a new sense of musical purpose, Ogle begins writing songs that surface as the Fort Destroyer demo. Seven new songs all recorded quietly at home. The momentum of those songs have lead to Ogle's first new record in 10 years...Songs From Winter. A collection of stunning folk-blues originals with personal takes on Dylan, Nick Cave and Fred McDowell. The psyche roots still swirl about but the songwriting and voice now belong to an older man. Witnessing a recent live solo performance, it's clear Ogle has lost none of the intense stage presence he possessed in his earlier bands. Although solo, by night's end, he'd stolen the multi-band show completely. Live, he's found an intoxicating blend of dynamics, texture and emotion that is both powerful and heady. He was and appears to still be...a great conjurer.Wade Ogle - Songs From WinterLost All BeliefsYour Side Of The MountainGirl From The North Country* (B. Dylan)Captain Of My PainNew Morning* (N.
