| | Jordan Doucette Lie To You CD Jordan Doucette Discography of CDs
In the hills of north central Massachusetts is the rural town of Winchendon, population 9,918. Nicknamed Toytown because of it’s history of wooden toy manufacturing in the 19th century, this is where Jordan Doucette was born Amy Elizabeth Doucette in 1983. Her home was a modest third floor apartment in small town that had little to offer. Her music career began as a child when she and her mother would sing along to Aretha Franklin records. Linda McCormack taught Jordan some guitar techniques and gave the adolescent a world that would provide escape from a bleak reality. Today, Jordan Doucette's world changes when she takes the stage, and that's what she does for her audience. This natural loves performing for audiences large and small. "I want to leave people feeling inspired. I find it freeing to be able to relate to people, and on stage you can weave your world around people and pull them in." That was her goal when Jordan recorded her first independent album, Lie To You. Lie To You boasts eleven tracks penned and performed with Jordan's customary spunk. In it, Jordan's four-piece rock band pulls driving beats, power chords, delicate percussion, compelling melodies, and emotionally charged lyrics together with a touch of acoustic funk. With songs inspired by everything from a spur-of-the-moment road trip to New York on $80 to a teen running away from an abusive father, Jordan draws you through a well-crafted road trip of life's bittersweet moments. With a honey-dipped voice as sultry as a tropical summer day, her silky rock style freely lends itself to any subject this chanteuse shares. And the industry has been taking notice. Lie To You has already been featured on internationally syndicated radio program Blues Deluxe, with four of the album's eleven tracks making a showing in the top 40 pop rock charts at freeworldradio.com. Metronome Magazine agrees that Lie To You is "Worthy of a Boston Music Award Nomination", and State of Emergency(.net)'s Amy McGill says it all when she states "Doucette is a sophisticated singer/songwriter that easily belies her years... This record oozes talent and it's just a matter of time before Doucette is making her way towards mainstream stardom." $16.24 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. ...

Lie To You music CDs
$10.15 This music is the culmination of an eight-year journey for ex-Human Switchboard member Myrna Marcarian. With the help of some great musicians, these ten original songs appear in their final versions on "This World of Days." Appearances by Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu), Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic), Mark Spencer (Blood Oranges, Uncle Tupelo, Lisa Loeb), Ron Metz (The Schramms, Human Switchboard), Andy McKee, Mike Levine, Doug Hall, Rebecca Harris, Frank Vilardi, George Usher, and Geoff Feinberg make this collaboration truly a 'ruby on the vine' worth pickin! "...Marcarian was a founding member of the critically acclaimed band, Human Switchboard, who performed one of their first gigs ever in Rochester back in the late 80's, opening for local heroes, New Math, and building a legion of fans in the area. An impressive offering, Ruby On The Vine features Myrna's distinctive vocals at the helm, with traces of Marianne Faithful, Patti Smith and Maria McKee heard in her style. The album is loaded with catchy tracks that feature a range of genres, from Americana-roots to 50's girl-group to 80's New Wave. Irresistible gems like "Get Around Your Wishing Well," "Unlisted Number" and "Somebody Else Will Do" are pure gold and will swirl in your brain for days! Give this very original work a listen and see CDBaby.com to get a copy..." Michelle PicardoFreetime MagazineRochester, NY"Myrna Marcarian rules the humanist motherboard of Ruby on the Vine, named after an Omar Khayyam elegy but also suggestive of the darkly faceted sheen of Marcarian's vocals. Though she plays keyboards less often than she plays her new signature instrument, acoustic guitar... Ruby on the Vine's intriguing folkpop songs, most written by Marcarian, some with electric guitarist Geoff Feinberg, project a worldview as desire-driven as Human Switchboard's, yet with more accommodation at the end of the stark hallway: Love exists, fidelity too, but you have to work at them-thus, the erotic fiats of "You Belong to Me" and "Don't Be So Sure." The album rolls from homespun ballads like "Gather Round Your Wishing Wall" to the startling (in this context) garage rock of "Little Demon" and "Why You Wanna Make Me Mad," the latter two with riffs that tunnel right through the hangar wall. We already knew she could walk alone, and now she's sounding real ...
