Robert and Janita Baker have been performing together for over 25 years, and are known for their excellence in performance and musicianship. Their collective taste in music runs from ragtime to blues to traditional to original compositions and they perform on a variety of instruments including guitar, mountain dulcimer and autoharp.Robert is an accomplished guitarist of both the fingerpicking and flatpicking style, and is known as an excellent vocalist as well. A POSITIVE FLOW-(the start of J.C. Bosco)-{Second Edition} produced by Josh Charles(Carealot Productions, 2004)is worth the listen. In fact, as a significant side note, most folks who've had the chance to hear APF's Second Edition as opposed to its original first release-(4/99 to be precise) feel that it's an even more special recording by way of not only the sound quality, but in the few re-mixes, additions and re-mastering that JC feels is "just the right touch" now to make this recording fully completed--needless to say, the long awaited better recording equipment-(and more gained experience) has paid off-- not to mention the results of more recent recordings, plus works still underway. An important step in the development of JC's career, APF signifies "the Bosco"-(as JC affectionately calls it) with its unique, yet still universal concept. Starting out as mainly a performing unit in the late 80's, the Bosco was then "J.F. Bosco" which successfully gigged for a while and JC's careful crafting of originals continued to develop. Presently with APF's Second Edition CD--(as well as an upcoming CD in the works) JC has concentrated even more on the recording process, especially since he's mostly considered himself a bassist/singer/songwriter. This concentration has made things stronger with J.C. Bosco fully realized as concept--(there's also a Beatle cover: "Here, There & Everywhere" on the CD as well). In fact, ever since the tender age of 14, JC has written his own material and decided that music would be his "calling" inlife and hasn't stopped since. As well as the Bosco project for example, JC has played with The Harptones, 3rd Rail and other groups-- assisting as mainly bassist/singer.JC even also had slight stints with two late, great artists of their time-- Frank Zappa and Jaco Pastorius! With FZ, JC recalls asking Frank--(at Manny's Music Store just after the release of "Apostrophe") a brief question about "Hot Rats" and then sat down to play an acoustic guitar he was trying out. A minute or two later, FZ sat right beside JC and they both did some cool riffing together for a bit! And.. shortly before Jaco Pastorius' tragic death, JC recalls Jaco storming into Matt Umanov's Music store and was struck immediately by JC's playing: "This guy ...

MICHAEL TOTAROMichael Totaro was born and raised in Chicago and its suburbs. He graduated from DePaul University, with a major in Music Education. During high school and college Michael performed extensively as part of a band, and later, on stage, in a variety of musical theatre comedies. After college he continued to perform professionally and assisted in establishing neighborhood musical theatre production companies.Married since 1976, Michael and his wife, Maureen, both graduated in 1981 from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in San Francisco, California. Working through school together, Michael and Maureen each earned a Masters of Law from George Washington University in Washington D.C. in 1982. The couple are law partners in Totaro & Shanahan, a small law firm. The Totaro's reside in Pacific Palisades with their four children, 17 year old Marissa, 15 year old Matthew, and 13 year old twins Mason and Mikhail.
