The Ticks are an all girl rock/pop trio from Cape Cod.With Sue LaVallee on guitar, Emma Levy on bass, and Julia Randall on drums, The Ticks play original music that is smart, funny, and rockin'.From the first time the girls played together in 1999 at a friend's rehearsal space, there was a humorous repartee that continues today in their music. Alternating every-girl longings with social satire and absurd silliness, The Ticks' live performances can include costumes, special songs, or themes. In the summer of 2001, The Ticks released So Young, So Bad, recorded by Kevin Reilly at Lookinglass Studios in New York. Still with their original drummer and Randall on guitar, So Young, So Bad contains early fan favorites Allergy, and Skinny Bed. The record was listed by Jim Sullivan as one of the top ten CDs of the year in the Boston Globe. The next spring, boy drummer number two left the band, and Julia took over on the drums. Shortly after that, The Ticks opened up for the B52's at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. The Ticks' next record Pick Me!, recorded by Plymouth Rock Records, debuted in the summer of 2004. In 2007 they again started off the B52's show at the Melody Tent.In 2008, the girls are recording again, and the first new Tick Music in years will be available!

Unlike its 2002 predecessor Back in the U.S., Good Evening New York City doesn't cherrypick highlights from a tour, it commemorates a specific event: the inauguration of Citi Field -- the replacement for the now-defunct Shea Stadium, where the Beatles played a legendary show in 1965 -- in the summer of 2009. The circumstances may be different -- different enough to lead to a Billy Joel cameo on "I Saw Her Standing There," the piano man returning a favor from Paul, who played at Billy's Shea-closing shows in 2008 -- and McCartney might have two strong albums of new material to draw upon, but as an album, Good Evening New York City plays a lot like Back in the U.S. with a whopping 17 of its 35 tracks ...

CD $7.19
After several years providing harmonies in a band, Jodi Harman has made a place for herself as a singer/songwriter with her first full-length, acoustic solo release, Paper Dragons. With an acoustic guitar and honest lyrics, Jodi's songs are about love, loss and truth and are full of raw emotion, bracing vocals and melodic harmonies. The cd features Baltimore singer/songwriter Kimberly Hall (www.kimberlyhall.net), guitarists Jerry Wade and Patrick Kisicki (www.rainydayrecluse.com) and cellist Kristin Putchinski (www.ellencherry.com). --------CD REVIEW......Chesapeake Music GuideBy Michael Macey July 2005Paper Dragons is the debut release from Baltimore singer/songwriter Jodi Harman. Us Versus Them
Matt Romero Us Versus Them CD  (2008)

Pick Me!
CD $6.39
Listen to 35 songs from Matt Romerohttp://www.purevolume.com/mattromeroBIO: Singer/songwriter/producer Matt Romero began writing and recording music in the winter of 1999 right after High School. Originally inspired by 90's alternative acts such as Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots, Matt found his sound with his acoustic guitar. After recording his first 4-track demo that same year he started he dubbed the project Us Versus Them. Intended to be a full-fledged rock band but at the time did not come to be. What happened next was a long journey of self-producing several ecelectic solo albums yet always under the name Us Versus Them and cutting his teeth live playing open mics around Amherst, MA. In late 2005 UVT had an actual band lineup started and at the same time producer Matt Russell took keen interest in UVT's 2003 album New Mourning. He offered to produce a studio EP version of New Mourning at the famed Studio A at Q-Division. Matt jumped at the opportunity to finally record at a real studio. It was titled and promoted as Us Versus Them's debut EP, however in reality it was really UVT as Matt Romero solo backed by a studio band. In 2006 the EP got lost in the shuffle of UVT's ever changing sound but not before getting rave reviews from critics. Fast forward to early 2007 Us Versus Them changed yet again but this time with a full-lineup that has been going solid into 2008. The band is a metal/rock act with Matt now as the frontman along with Phoebe Danskin on bass, Rich Noe and Vaz Curpen on guitars and a revolving door of drummers (as of Jan.08). Wait...so what happened to UVT as Matt's solo project and all those albums he wrote beloved by many before changing styles to Metal? Well after getting a call from Matt Russell 3 years since the duo worked together, Matt Romero decided to finally give his own music a second life and in reality since it was just him it would fair to release under his own name and finally depart from the UVT brand leaving it as the Metal band it is now. So while working with the band Us Versus Them, Matt has officialy released his first solo album previously under the Us Versus Them brand and titled it back to New Mourning EP (unofficially for now) under his name. This is the same EP recorded with Matt Russell in 2005 and is finally now available to purchase in 2008!! No plans are made as of yet to have Matt go on the road with a studio band to promote his solo music and the EP. But it will be moving forward in terms of online promoting. Matt and Matt the songwriting/producing duo do plan on working together again as they have gained a solid working relationship and friendship after all this time. *updated 2/13/08*CREDITS: produced, engineered and mixed by matt russell | mastered by tom polce | recorded at q division, somerville, ma and warp factor one, boston, ma by matt russell | q sessions assisted by mark bates | all songs written by matt romero | vocals, programming - matt romero | drums, percussion, ...
