Parables CD music
$13.89 Growing up in an ex-communist, so-called “third world” country, TONY got exposed to Hip Hop around the age of 14 and it was a perfect fit. All the ambitions, anger and the simple reality of the life of a teenager in Romania in the 1990s found a perfect expression in Hip Hop music. A ghetto is a ghetto regardless of the country it’s in, and that’s the main reason why teenagers like T.O.N.Y. got drawn to the Hip Hop Culture and started developing their own version of it complete with MCs, DJs, B-Boys, Graf Artists and a whole lot of attitude. Rapping was not even an option for the young T.O.N.Y. who took on the name Teddy C. and started performing at any venue that would allow it. It was meant to be.Although the public in Romania didn’t know much about Hip Hop, the radio stations wouldn’t play it and record labels didn’t want to even hear about it, T.O.N.Y. kept going for years and became part of the pioneering generation in Romania. At 21, he decided that it was time to understand more about the culture and really become a part of it so he moved to New York. With only a few dollars in his pocket and without any friends or family, he began to discover the birthplace of Hip Hop the hard way, in the streets. This was a chance for T.O.N.Y. to re-discover himself at the same time and ...

$7.49 Calen "Cato" Schaefer was born in Champaign-Urbana, and moved to the St. Louis urban Illinois area at the age of 8. He started writing at the age of 12 years old with short stories, fiction, and poetry, but eventually moved into writing music. Cato found that writing music was the best way to express his thoughts. He began by songwriting for others and then started writing his own music to perform. At the age of 14, he started his life in hip / hop & rap. When he went to college at Southern Illinois University @ Carbondale, he studied Audio Engineering / Music Production, mostly to further his knowledge in recording his own music. After recording numerous tracks his first year in school, he and one of his producers collaborated on a track called "All My People," which soon became a city success in 2003. The song got spins at numerous local clubs in Carbondale such as: Gatsby's 2, Carboz's Night Club, and The Gallery Strip Club. The song was also featured on DigiDawg Record's (the campus record label) "Coalition of the Willing" Soundtrack. At the age of 19, Cato's recently noted exposure was revealed. "All My People," made it into a song battle on the airwaves in Carbondale. The Southern Illinois radio station 101.5 CIL FM, took the song and put it on the "Shag it" or "Bag it" portion of the radio show, where it won 2 consecutive nights, beating R. Kelly & Cassidy's "Come to my Hotel," and J-Kwon's "Tipsy." Cato was also featured on the show for an hour-long live interview. The song had great feedback from listeners. The campus radio station WIDB also played ...
| | Groundhogs Hogwash CD (2008) (Import) Remastered; United Kingdom
Parables songs
$17.15 Hogwash falls somewhere in between the Groundhogs' raw, blues-meets-electric rock sound of the late '60s and early '70s, and the less enthusiastic material that followed. It initiates more of a fundamental prog rock sound, with Tony McPhee's guitar work (along with a smattering of keyboard bits) taking on some well-maintained aggression. The album is the first for the former Egg drummer Clive Brooks, replacing Ken Pustlenik who left after 1972's Who Will Save the World album, while bass player Peter Cruickshank dishes out some of the group's better bottom-heavy riffs. But, even with a hearty progressive foundation in place, the material from Hogwash has a hard time competing ...
