| | Matt Stoops Not Up For This CD Matt Stoops Discography of CDs
Matt Stoops was born on July 8, 1978 in Rochester, NY only to move three years later to Ft. Collins, CO where he grew up. Matt started studying the piano, classically, at the age of 6 and continued to study both piano and voice throughout high school. Stoops started writing and playing his own music while still living in Colorado at the age of 20 in the year of 1998. He moved to Seattle in 2000 and spent the next four years writing, performing, producing, recording, and promoting himself musically (as well as being a school bus driver and a full time barista). His first compilation of musical works, "Not Up For This", was completed under his own steam in the spring of 2002. On October 1, 2003 Simple Simple Simple records became an official, simple, small business by which Matt continues to reveal himself artistically. He has played at the Hopvine Pub, Penny Cafe, Connor Byrne Tavern, Mr. Spots Chai House, The Rendezvous, and Firehouse Coffee (all in Seattle). In March of 2005 Stoops moved to Redhook, Brooklyn. He is eager to share his music with the kind folks out East. Stay tuned for more info including new music and live shows! Not Up For This album
$12.29 BY A THREAD is Gov't Mule's first studio album since HIGH & MIGHTY was issued in 2006. Since that time, bassist Andy Hess has been replaced by Jorgen Carlsson, though Hess appears on two tracks at the end of the album. Carlsson's playing style is much more aggressive than Hess', and is therefore closer - in spirit anyway - to Gov't Mule's original bassist, the late Allen Woody, though he possesses an adventurous sense of time and is harmonically more colorful than either Woody or Hess. Carlsson and drummer Matt Abst are a solid match, since Abst is a drummer used to shifting time signatures and allowing the unexpected in while ...

| | Creed Full Circle CD (2009) Digipak
Not Up For This album
$12.95 Getting right back to where they started from, Creed reunites for Full Circle, putting all tensions to rest and cutting their first album in eight years. FULL CIRCLE is a none-too-subtle allusion to how they're getting back to their beginnings, but a cynic could say they never got much past it, toiling the same weathered ...

| | Mustard's Retreat 5 Miles Or 50,000 Years CD (1998)
Not Up For This music CDs
$17.09 Thirty-one years may not seem like such a long time in the life of a human being, a tree or a folk song. But in the fickle world of modern music, where pop stars shy of their 21st birthdays often see their careers dumped into oldies bins, thirty-one years is a very long time. So as David Tamulevich and Michael Hough celebrate their 31st Anniversary as Mustard's Retreat, the same question seemed to burn among aspiring young performers and road-weary old folkies - why you guys?In searching for the answer, one word comes up again and again, the simple word "audience." Everything Mustard's Retreat does on a stage is aimed at pleasing, moving and engaging their audience. Whether singing their own gentle love songs and vivid ballads, telling tall tales or offering treasures from America's vast traditional song bag, a Mustard's Retreat show always feels like it's designed for the people who have come to see them that day, in that coffeehouse, school, concert hall or festival. Audiences sense this from the moment David and Michael hit the stage, are drawn to it like hungry kids to Sunday supper and reward it the best way they know how. They come to see Mustard's Retreat again and again. And again.Spike Barkin, who produces the prestigious Roots of American music Festival at New York City's Lincoln Center, wrote to thank them for their "folk from the heart," going on to say it seemed like David and Michael "take your living room on the road with you and invite people in as friends." David Siglin, of Ann Arbor's legendary ...
