MOONBand Bio: For 15 years now the Morgantown, West Virginia rock band MOON has been taking their love for punk, pop and 60's garage to new levels. The group consists of Mark Poole on guitar and lead vocals, Billy Sheeder on drums, Bill Matheny on bass and Clint Sutton on percussion. After receiving critical praise for their debut LP/CD Questionable Places And Things (released on Skyclad Records in the early nineties) the band spent the better part of a decade honing their unique style of noisy pop as well as their fiercely independent do-it-yourself work ethic. Since that time, MOON's founder and lead singer Mark Poole started Zone 8 Records (the bands label) as well as built their own recording studio. There the band recorded their second full length CD entitled Get It Through Your Heart. On Get It Through Your Heart MOON plows their way through 11 indie-rock punk pop gems with a confidence that could only come from over a decade of playing under their belts. That album was featured in West Virginia Public Radio's top 5 picks for best releases of 2000. On their new CD Flight Logs, the band's sound is a little more refined while still maintaining their signature guitar buzz. You can hear elements of The Byrds, Kinks, Neil Young, and "Revolver" - era Beatles in their songs blended with a sonic attack reminiscent of The Ramones, Husker Du, and Dinosaur Jr. The band has also added two new members since Get It Through Your Heart. Todd Moser is now handling the bass duties and Clint Sutton on percussion and back up vocals. Watch for MOON to come to your town as they are currently playing shows to support their new release. Flight Logs album
$12.95 Daisy in her hair aside, Carrie Underwood looks flat-out glamorous on the cover of PLAY ON, which is a pretty fair indication of what awaits listeners on her third album. Carrie is still nominally a country artist and sometimes will sing supported by fiddles and steel guitar, but this is crossover pop pure and simple, whether it's the thundering rhythms on the Shania-styled strut "Cowboy Casanova" or the succession of maudlin melodies on the preponderance of power ...
| | Lady Gaga Fame Monster CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
Flight Logs CD music
$16.24 Initially planned solely as a standard double-disc reissue in the wake of the blockbuster success of The Fame, Lady Gaga decided to release the new material as a separate EP called The Fame Monster in addition to the standard two-CD set, where it's tacked onto a now standardized version of her debut. It's a nice move for fans, plus it helps emphasize the new material, which does act as a bridge from the debut to a forthcoming full-length. Everything on The Fame Monster bears a galvanized Eurotrash finish, as evident on the heavy steel synths of "Bad Romance" and the updated ABBA revision "Alejandro," as it is on the rock ...

| | Melissa Page Tangerine Love CD (2005)
Flight Logs album
$14.79 Over the past decade Melissa Page has composed over 40 songs in the genres of pop, rock, soul, blues, jazz, dance and folk. Three of the songs on the "Tangerine Love" CD won Honorable Mentions in the Billboard World Song Contest in the categories of Pop, Dance and Jazz. The phrase 'Tangerine Love' comes from the single Crayons, which is featured twice on the 'Tangerine Love' CD in two very different styles. Crayons '00 attracted a lot of attention upon its release in 2000. On the Australian music website Mp3 .au, Crayons sat at number one on the Rock/Pop Charts for several weeks. The 'Tangerine Love' CD is compilation of original songs that were recorded over a seven year period. The earliest tracks were recorded in 1998 in Melissa's hometown of Melbourne Australia with her close friend from university, singer-songwriter and filmmaker Sophie Raymond, and a traveling Canadian boy they met in Byron Bay who turned out to be singer-songwriter Shane Anthony (The Breath Records). Melissa had won first prize in the 1998 North Melbourne Street Fair Talent Contest - the prize was one day of studio recording time at the Elwood Lab. They recorded Ocean Man (track 7), Moon Lovin' (track 5) and Crayons '98 (track 6) with Melissa and Sophie on vocals, Shane & Sophie on guitars, Tamara Murphy on upright bass and Amy Valent on congas. Towards the end of 1999, Melissa recorded four more tracks, this time with American producer Joey Muller in the Northern Californian town of San Rafael, where Melissa resided at the time. That year, for her birthday, Melissa hosted 'The Tangerine Love Party' to raise funds for these recordings. The songs chosen were Green On Earth (track 3), Rock Me (track 9), I'm A Superstar (track 8) and a new version of Crayons (track 11) which included Cassidy Wollenberg on didgeridoo. Melissa independently released these four tracks in Australia and the UK on a self-titled EP, which she took on tour for the two years that followed. During her time in London in 2001, Melissa wrote Now That You're Here (track 12), which she recorded about 18 months later back in San Rafael with Joey Muller, featuring Terren Trousset on guitar. Around the same time, Melissa recorded Dry Your Eyes (track 4) in San Diego with Terren, featuring Neil McPherson from the popular San Diegan funk band Tubby on keyboards. Motorcycle Ride (track 10) was recorded in the same San Diego studio and was selected for the 'Tangerine Love' CD from a full catalog of unreleased Melissa Page 'single-takes', originally intended only for personal demo usage. Where I Belong (track 2) and Find Me (track 1) were recorded a year apart in 2003 and 2004 respectively, with Joey Muller in San Anselmo, ...
