Disney's Princess Favorites Soundtrack
$5.19 //Out of print on CD and cassette on Geffen Records [2064 24257] as of August, 1995 {according to Bassin}.//
Warm and Tender is a major achievement for Olivia Newton-John, a majestic combination of lullabies and standards. Where Eva Cassidy found fame with her posthumous folk-jazz version of "Over the Rainbow," Newton-John takes the Harold Arlen/E.Y. Harburg classic from The Wizard of Oz and gives it a mature ...

Disney's Princess Favorites Soundtrack
$9.29 In 1992, when it had its first recording, Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton's The Scarlet Pimpernel was a concept album vaguely based on the novels of Baroness Oczy, but without a real story and largely constructed as a star vehicle for Linda Eder. Nearly six years later, the cast album of the Broadway show (with a libretto by Knighton) that opened ...

| | Mary VanArsdel When At Night I Go To Sleep: Lullabies For Children And Adults CD (2002)
Disney's Princess Favorites Soundtrack
$20.49 The play list for this album of lullabies includes a wide gamut of selections from scores from film, musical stage, and opera all caressingly sung by Mary VanArsdel backed by celestial harp, guitar, and a plethora of instruments created by Ron Abel's magic synthesizer. The subtitle to this album is "Lullabies for children and adults with voice and orchestration." So it's the view of the performers and producers that adults can be well served by this soothing music sung by the classically trained VanArsdel in solo or in duet with herself created through the wizardry of overdubbing. And, in fact, the music is pretty and church-like, so reverent are the arrangements. Sometimes it gets a bit heavy, such as with "Barcarolle" from Jacques Offenbach's Tales of Hoffman. But then there is "When You Wish Upon a Star," one of the purest melodies ever written, and "Angels on Your Pillow," both of which should have a pacifying effect on both children and adults. This is truly a suitable album for small children and will likely lull them to sleep. As for adults, don't play it unless you are planning to doze off. Recommended for children and adults in various stages of insomnia. ~ Dave Nathan
The soloist on this album, Mary VanArsdel, is a Los Angeles-based Actress and Singer who has performed in dozens of plays, musicals and concerts in various cities. In her dedication to community service, she will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each album to SHANE'S INSPIRATION, a non-profit organization dedicated to building playgrounds that enable children with disabilities to play aongside their able-bodied peers. Many audiences remember Mary for creating the role of the punk rock singing Jetta in the cult hit, "Angry Housewives" in Seattle, as well as performing the role at The Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles. She is the recipient of three DramaLogue Awards for outstanding performances, and most recently received a prestigious Los Angeles Drama Critics ...
