| | House - The Complete Second Season DVD (4 Customer Reviews)
This release includes all the episodes plus documentaries, bloopers, alternate takes, and producer commentary. Part E.R. and part C.S.I., HOUSE is a medical mystery television show that's appealing due to its creative camerawork, interesting characters, and twisting plotlines. Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) is a brilliant medical professional, but often alienates his patients and co-workers because of his abrasive manner and bitterness. In each episode House is faced with a person exhibiting a number of unusual symptoms, and along with his team of dedicated doctors and nurses, must discover what strange illness is afflicting the patient before it's too late. The show moves at a rapid pace, spurred by its turning and suspenseful plotlines and the lively interaction between the characters, played by a strong supporting cast that includes Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, and Sela Ward. HOUSE: SEASON TWO collects all 24 episodes of the program's second year. Clever, funny and eminently watchable..."-- Paul Spragg, Ultimate DVD "What makes it riveting is Hugh Laurie's mastery of the sarcastic put-down and some really ingenious conceits."-- Sergio Angelini, Sight and Sound "[W]hat elevates this show above the average procedural is the complicated web of relationships between the acerbic House and his fellow doctors."-- Movieline Critic, Movieline's Hollywood Life House - The Complete Second Season | List Price | $59.98 (You save $13.19) | | Studio | Universal Studios Home Video | | Orig Year | 2005 | | DVD Encoding | Region 1 | | All Time Sales Rank | 5861 | | CD Universe Part number | 7201784 | | Catalog number | 61029600 | | Discs | 6 | | Release Date | Aug 22, 2006 | | Rating | Not Rated | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Subtitled; Digipak | | Movie Details | Color; Widescreen; Subtitled; Digipak; 6-Disc Set; Anamorphic Widescreen |

$6.95 Based on a novel by Arturo Pérez-Reverte (THE CLUB DUMAS) and coscripted by director Roman Polanski, THE NINTH GATE was Polanski's first feature after a long break following the release of 1995's DEATH AND THE MAIDEN--in between, there was an aborted project that faltered when designated star John Travolta opted out. Dean Corso (Johnny Depp) is a cynical rare books dealer hired by Boris Balkan (Frank Langella), a scholar specializing in books on Satanism, to recover the only two remaining copies (in addition to the one owned by Balkan) of THE NINE GATES OF THE KINGDOM OF SHADOWS, a 17th-century text with cryptic illustrations supposedly contributed by Lucifer himself. Corso's investigation takes him to Europe, where he is pursued by a strange girl (Emmanuelle Seigner) who seemes ...
