Crashtown was founded in 1987 when close friends Scott Crosson And Larry Town, who had played together and separately in various Atlantic City area bands, decided to take a stab at an all original project. In the midst of recording, family emergencies forced an almost fifteen year hiatus! When a second chance presented itself, they were able to avil themselves of the services of a number of very talented and experienced musicians. The result is Welcome To Crashtown. Crashtown is quite the multi-cultural place, where the tastes and experiences of its "citizens" are reflected in the thirteen songs that comprise the record. Elements and influences of country, metal, new wave, classic rhythm and blues and Latin are present, but whichever neighborhood you're in, it still feels like that small town that once was the very image of America. This approach stems from the basic dichotomy between Crosson, whose blue-collar style evokes the forges of the Pennsylvania steel town of his youth, and Town, who favors the polishing waves of the Jersey Shore. Welcome To Crashtown tells the stories of everyday people, people who love, lose, dream, fail, and like the rest of us, try to keep going through it all.
