Purchase Marksman CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Black Eyed Peas E.N.D. (The Energy Never Dies) CD (2009)
Marksman album
$9.99 Black Eyed Peas, the hip-hop crossover juggernaut that propelled singer Fergie and producer Will.I.Am to superstardom, have, since 2003's ELEPHUNK, been audaciously plugging away at their bombastic but lighthearted style of rap-cum-dance pop--an effort that has translated to a run of successful chart-topping singles including "My Humps," "Pump It," and "Don't Phunk with My Heart." Eager to follow up on the platinum-selling success of 2005's MONKEY BUSINESS, Black Eyed Peas have returned with THE E.N.D. (an acronym for "Energy Never Dies"), their third studio effort. Combining Will.I.Am's thumping 808 kick drum-infused beats with production ...

| | Eminem Show CD (2002)
Marksman album
$10.45 THE EMINEM SHOW was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Album Of The
Year. "Without Me" was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Record Of The Year and Best Male Rap Solo Performance.
This deluxe limited edition includes a bonus DVD containing previously unreleased footage and interview with Eminem.
As one of the most controversial figures in hip-hop history, Eminem can be forgiven for being somewhat self-obsessed. THE EMINEM SHOW's opening cut "White America" sums up the notorious rapper's self-defense by keenly observing that while the color of his skin has something to do with his widespread popularity it's also the reason his lyrics are examined so scrupulously by critics who otherwise wouldn't bother. "I could be one of your kids" he proclaims, getting right to the heart of the matter. Despite the abundance of introspection, Eminem doesn't back up a single step on any of the themes that made him such a hot property. He's still into glorifying violence, as on "Soldier" one of the many cuts where he waves his broken-home/dysfunctional upbringing like a flag to justify the hatred that seeps from every pore of THE EMINEM SHOW.
Over the course of the album, he threatens to brutally murder so many members of his family that one begins to lose track, but this is just the kind of hard-ass image that's helped make him an icon. The aforementioned cut finds the former Marshall Mathers making one of his most telling statements; "I'll never be Marshall again." It's clear that the Eminem identity allows him to fully vent his rage and get lauded (by some) for it instead ...
| | Very Best Of Otis Redding CD (1992)
Marksman CD music
$7.79 It is impossible to overrate Otis Redding. This Rhino compilation, while in no way comprehensive, is nonetheless an outstanding sampler of songs by one of soul music's all-time titans. There's not a dud among these 16 songs, and some, like "These Arms Of Mine," "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay," and "Try A Little Tenderness," rank among the greatest pop songs ever recorded.
Redding's ...

| | Jesse McReynolds New Horizons CD (2004)
Marksman songs
$10.85 While it may seem difficult for hardcore bluegrass fans to imagine Jesse McReynolds soldiering on after the death of his brother and longtime partner, Jim McReynolds, this is exactly what he has done. It's fitting, then, that his 2004 release on Pinecastle is titled New Horizons. Mandolinist/vocalist McReynolds has nonetheless maintained the sound of recent Jim & Jesse albums, a sound that harks back to the duo's earliest efforts. He's joined by a crack group of singer/musicians gathered under the umbrella of the Virginia Boys, featuring vocalist Charles Whitstein, guitarist Donny Catron, banjoist Daniel Grindstaff, and a number of others. New Horizons benefits immeasurably from the inclusion of a fine set list, including "In the Pines" and "There's More Pretty Girls ...
| | Fela Kuti Open & Close/Afrodisiac CD (2001)
Marksman album
$14.29 Includes liner notes by Jacqueline Grandchamp-Thiam, Rikki Stein and Mabinuori Kayode Idowu.
Digitally remastered by Pompon (Translab Paris, Paris, France).
This CD reissue combines two early-'70s albums -- Open & Close and Afrodisiac -- on a single disc. Open & Close has just three songs, all in the ten- to 15-minute range, mixing some of the improvisational verve of jazz into Kuti's Afro-funk stew. There's a bittersweet, faintly melancholy tone to some of the progressions that differentiates this from much African pop of then and later, and the half-dozen percussionists set a good bed on which the horns and electric keyboards swap lines. "Gbagada Gbagada Gbogodo Gbogodo" is highlighted by extensive call-and-response vocals between Kuti and the band. The four (as usual, lengthy) songs occupying Aphrodisiac had been originally recorded in Nigeria as 45 rpm releases, though that album consists of re-recordings of these done in London in the early '70s. (Confusingly, one part of the liner notes gives the years 1972-1973 as the recording dates, while another section says they were cut in 1971.) While it's true that Fela Kuti's records from this period are pretty similar to each other, in their favor they're not boring. These four workouts, all sung in Nigerian, are propulsive mixtures of funk and African music, avoiding the homogeneity of much funk and African records of later vintage, ...

$9.35 BIOBorn in San Bernardino, California but raised here in Rialto, California. I graduated from Eisenhower High school i. I come from a very well-mannered family. Yet that didn't seem to prevent me from being in the streets or getting into trouble. I got into selling "dope" and made money, but realized it actually taught me how to hustle and sell my own CD's. So with that knowledge I quit the "dope" game and instead pursued my love for music and rappin'. I started rappin' about 7 years ago with 2 of my homeboys "Troubles" and Junior, but they didn't take it as serious about it as I did back then even though we would chill all night writing rhymes and spitting freestyles. I would have loved to come out years ago, but I didn't feel quite ready to, yet. Though I can't name one specific person who has helped me out in a major way, I've had little bits of help from different people. But ALL my studio equipment (which includes: Pro Tools Digi 002, a Neumann microphone, a Digital mic pre-amp enhancer and a Mac computer) I hustled hard for. Finally, in October of last year (2006) I decided to present my first mix-tape, titled, "Hustle 24/7" featuring "Kokane", my cousin "Menace", and homeboy Junior. Productions by: Bambino and Big North. So with that, comes promotion and I went and had posters and flyers printed out. Then I met my homie "Stroller" at a CD release party and he hooked me up with my first BIG show in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Since then I've been networking and meeting a lot of good and important people and doing shows everywhere and anywhere I can. I've performed in Texas and Idaho to name a few and of course ...
