Beats: Miles Bonny (aka DinoJack Crispy)Lyrics: ID (aka Lucky Mannuelo)for more info visit: www.TheFind.net"It is the feeling of being lost in one's own thoughts. It is wanting to say something and not being able to confront the truth or reality of the right thing to say. It is those hesitant first steps of a grand undertaking. It is the self-titled debut from the experimental local Hip hop duo, The Find, and it is all about the art, the hustle, the humor, and the triumph of being human.Wordsmith, Lucky Manuelo and sonic landscape artist, DinoJack Crispy present an album that is lyrically heavy enough to challenge but aurally light enough to inspire. This isn't Hip hop for the dancehall or the Jeep trunk. Casual listeners will find the album difficult to settle into, as this is Hip hop for the thinker, for the believer, and for the romantic. However, those willing to explore will discover that the album resonates with overwhelming sincerity and warmth. In the short space of 27 minutes, The Find convincingly expresses the beauty of human imperfection."-Cornelius MinorReview of THE FIND : from Lawrence.com : an Award winning entertainment website and publication...Miles Bonny is a sneaky devil. The Lawrence-based beatmaker, who created and maintains Lawrencehiphop.com, is best-known for his work with local hip-hop duo SoundsGood, but has also released work under the monikers Dino Jack Crispy, Fats Brown and (gasp) Miles Bonny. Add to the list Bonny's newest project: "The Find." The album's eight tracks allow Archetype's I.D. (credited here as "Lucky Manuelo") free reign over the prolific producer's lost beats. I.D. spins threads of stream-of-conscious rhymes on top of Bonny's dense compositions, which sound considerably darker and more ominous than the majority of his work with SoundsGood. The album proudly lists the instruments used in its creation: "1 microphone, 1 mpc2000xl sampler, 1 mic compressor, 1 microverb efx processor, 1 four-track minidisc recorder, 1 tascam cd-recorder + ears, ideas, and abilities..." The gritty production fits snugly with I.D.'s esoteric lyricism, feeding late-night bursts of creativity between two friends. The album's standout track is "Take Five," which features an irresistible beat with a thick string section and a yummy bass line. "My World" leaves heads spinning with a daring off-kilter beat and jazzy piano line. "The Find" stands as evidence of the fertile collaborative environment within the Lawrence hip-hop scene, and this album adds another fine chapter to its evolution. _____ thanks for stopping by, stay in touch. -peace Find Music | Category | Rap Albums | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7211668 | | Catalog number | 14914 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Apr 13, 2004 |

Sam Cooke's death in 1964 left a huge void in the world of soul music not filled until Al Green's breakthrough in the early '70s. Although many great male soul singers came and went in the years following Cooke's death, none came close to the smooth and creamy style that translated to consistent cross-over success. While Otis Redding was gritty and James Brown relentless, in Green's hands, R&B was sophisticated and suave. GREATEST HITS basks in a style of sultry soul that Green inherited ...

$9.35 The summer of 1999 was a pivotal time for Atlanta based musician Bruce Butkovich. After having spent years as a side man for multiple bands (Moonbird, 5 More Dead) and feeling creatively stifled by the confines of a democratic band dynamic, Bruce took his experiences as a writer and singer to a level that fit his ever growing aspirations ...the music of Universal Overdose.Solidifying that fall, the Atlanta band consisted of writer/singer/guitarist Bruce Butkovich, drummer Michael Allen (the Goodies!, ISS), bassist Ryan Acree and guitarist Chris Hoke (3d5spd). Since coming together, the group has recorded and released two EP's and one full-length album, "Scenes from the Imploding Heart".Universal Overdose is a unique brand of rock music, blending melodic vocals and distorted guitar. This music consistently carries a commentary on modern society and/or human experience. The music contains an honest integrity that cannot be found on current radio and television stations, and fills a void caused by the homogenized ...

$7.49 Calen "Cato" Schaefer was born in Champaign-Urbana, and moved to the St. Louis urban Illinois area at the age of 8. He started writing at the age of 12 years old with short stories, fiction, and poetry, but eventually moved into writing music. Cato found that writing music was the best way to express his thoughts. He began by songwriting for others and then started writing his own music to perform. At the age of 14, he started his life in hip / hop & rap. When he went to college at Southern Illinois University @ Carbondale, he studied Audio Engineering / Music Production, mostly to further his knowledge in recording his own music. After recording numerous tracks his first year in school, he and one of his producers collaborated on a track called "All My People," which soon became a city success in 2003. The song got spins at numerous local clubs in Carbondale such as: Gatsby's 2, Carboz's Night Club, and The Gallery Strip Club. The song was also featured on DigiDawg Record's (the campus record label) "Coalition of the Willing" Soundtrack. At the age of 19, Cato's recently noted exposure was revealed. "All My People," made it into a song battle on the airwaves in Carbondale. The Southern Illinois radio station 101.5 CIL FM, took the song and put it on the "Shag it" or "Bag it" portion of the radio show, where it won 2 consecutive nights, beating R. Kelly & Cassidy's "Come to my Hotel," and J-Kwon's "Tipsy." Cato was also featured on the show for an hour-long live interview. The song had great feedback from listeners. The campus radio station WIDB also played the song on its urban part of the show. After the short success of the song, Cato was asked by a local sorority to do a song for their house. He did a song for the Sigma Kappa Sorority house and in the fall of 2003 and again in 2006 and was able to perform the song live at the annual Greek Sing Event. ...

$12.49 Georgia-native Kelly Dees has always loved all kinds of music. She grew up singing and writing, learned to play piano, and played trumpet for several years in school. As she got older, she realized she had a true passion for the blues. After settling in Tampa, Florida in 1999, she started singing in local nightclubs, covering blues, jazz and R&B songs by some of her favorite artists. Her long list of musical influences includes Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, and Susan Tedeschi. In 2004, working closely with producer Mike Conway of MCR Studio in Tampa, Kelly began writing and recording her first album, which would later be called "Bettin’ Woman". Also the title of one of the first songs she wrote for the CD, Kelly felt that "Bettin’ Woman" was an especially appropriate title for this self-produced album, knowing that she was taking a risk. Now the ...
