| | Pat Carr Put Yourself In My Place CD Pat Carr Discography of CDs
Patrick W. Carr loves to play the Blues. Traditional style electric blues, acoustic Delta and gospel blues, and edgy blues-rock all flow from the heart, soul, and fingers of this veteran player. He uses a guitar style described as “emotionally charged” and likened to Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler, and a vocal style ranging from soulful and subtle to raw and bluesy to relate experiences of loves and lost loves, mean women, happiness and pain, rejection and redemption – often with a little subtle humor.Born in Louisiana and musically raised on the streets of the French Quarter, Pat’s Southern roots contributed a variety of musical influences including blues, rock, soul, jazz, Cajun, country, bluegrass, and gospel music. Early training included piano, guitar, and singing in church choirs. He also plays bass and mandolin, and plays all instruments on many of his recordings. Not limited to blues, some of Pat’s songs cross genres into rock, soul, country-gospel, and even a little jazz. His CD “Put Yourself In My Place” is a collection as diverse as the influences that inspired the songs: from the gospel blues of Blind Willie Johnson to New Orleans soul; from Delta blues and hard-edged Texas blues to bluegrass and country. Some quotes:“hot, biting guitar licks”“excellent, strong vocal”“solidly crafted in the classic blues vein”“Swamp feel…clean, excellent lead guitar playing”“great evocation of classic sound”“memorable songs…powerful and sincere lyrics”With airplay on FatCat Radio, SongPlanet, RootsTime in Belgium, Radio Holstebro in Denmark, positive reviews in Japan and Europe, songs in the top 40 of the Blues charts on Broadjam and SoundClick, and steadily expanding internet presence, the word is starting to spread."Put Yourself In My Place" was voted CD of the Month on RootsTime. $21.39 Geoff Achison has a reputation as a guitar player’s guitarist. Equally adept at acoustic or electric styles, either choice can be beautifully intricate or feature high energy explosiveness. He has his own sound that is exquisitely tasteful, you recognize an Achison lick when you hear it. With a soulful voice that evokes Joe Cocker or Warren Haynes, you realize this is a multi layered performer. Add to that his award winning songwriting skills and you have the total package. He has been a musical force on three continents and won honors on all of them. Twenty years of touring and playing with scores of artists like Jorma Kaukonen and Hot Tuna, John Mayall, John Mayer, Levon Helm, Tommy Emmanuel, and Hubert Sumlin have challenged him to play as passionately and skillfully as they do. ...

Hart, known to many as Ro Deezy, is absolutely one of the most phenomenal, powerful and incredible women, poets, teachers, thinkers and leaders of the present time. Once described as a “female cross between Langston Hughes and 2 PAC”, Miss Deezy is dynamically doing her part to eradicate so many social issues. From women’s rights to racism, to unfair treatment of the poor and oppressed, Deezy is making an impact across the board. More than words … she puts her beliefs in action, and that alone is a gift. If you don’t know who she is, FIND OUT.” David Seletzige, Ph.D. Trenton, New Jersey An underground superstar and still in her twenties, Rochell D. (Ro Deezy) Hart is already a veteran of her game. An Oregonian Newspaper writer hailed her as "A female cross between Langston Hughes and 2 PAC" while Spoken Vizions Magazine called Ro "The Queen from the West." Cris Day of the Willamette Week Newspaper said, "... she stands out as an original and intelligent voice struggling free from a crowd of one-dimensional stereotypes." An award-nominated author, activist and man-loving radical feminist, Ro was the first black woman from Oregon to represent the state at the 10th Annual National Poetry Slam (Chicago, IL 1999). She opened shows for artist that range from the Grammy Award winning group, The Roots to the Revolutionary But Gangsta Dead Prez (seen recently in Dave Chapelle’s ...
