| | Xolin Hypochronic Stillness CD Xolin Discography of CDs
The writer behind Xolin's music, Colin Lenehan, was born in Philadelphia on August 8, 1987. Colin was first introduced to music at the age of 6 when he began private piano lessons. Cello was added to his repertoire when he hit 11 years. Always anxious to start a band with friends, his unsuccessful attempts eventually lead to the solo work of Xolin. The music of Xolin was born late 2002 in the form of an album titled Chiano Lake. In the years following, Xolin produced four additional collections of his aural art, including Monton's Way (2003), Con-formist (2004), Hypochronic Stillness (2005), and In the Wake of Fever (2005). His sixth album, Scream Louder, will make its debut later this year. Combining both electronic and acoustic instruments, Xolin produces a unique sound that ultimately fails to be described in contemporary terms. Some of his favorite artists include U2, Coldplay, Massive Attack, and Radiohead. Upon listening to some of Xolin's work, one may be able to extract certain elements resembling the sounds of these artists. Colin is currently a freshmen at Columbia College Chicago where he studies audio production. He hopes to continue developing his skills so that he may one day experience the joy of music-writing on a professional level. Hypochronic Stillness music CDs
$11.49 Named for a town near Bristol, England, Portishead is a British dance band that grabs ideas from all over the mod pop world (spaghetti Western guitars, turntable scratching, melancholy soul vocals, atmospheric organs, house beats) and stirs them into spacey, dub-like productions that sound like a dance club in the middle of a "Twin Peaks" dream. You could call it surreal hip-hop pop. But if the beats on the band's debut album achieve ...

Hypochronic Stillness songs
$12.65 .Here's what some have had to say about Minan's recordings so far: "Bloody Fantastic! I've listened to a lot of electronically produced) synth pop and NONE can generate such beautiful and atmospheric sounds as this awesome feast!! Who needs BJORK or ENYA and the same old cliched sound sets they use when you can have this....! "Chaser of The Wind"...breathtaking! At last, 'new age' pop with a punch where it counts. More please......." - Adam Longfellow, USA "One word describes "Have You Ever" and "Rainbows" - Heavenly!! Wonderful, atmospheric, and most importantly, inspiring, very inspiring. Analog is fine, but there are just so many analog recordings around. It's refreshing to come across something so different. I'm going to recommend this to anyone who'll listen!!" And, oh yeah, I'm going to go back very soon and buy the damn thing myself...after all, if the downloaded demo clips are this good, what about the whole uncensored unrestricted version?- Mike Dobson, UK "This is the only recording that could make the ambient sounds that please and satisfy my craving for something memorable, positive, bright, even uplifting... a recording that actually sounds good, so if these album (Rainbows and Have You Ever) work for me and inspires me in my own recorded tracks, think of what it can do for you, the average listener who must surely be as sick and tired of the mainstream as I am... I give this one a , two thumbs up !" - Rob "In the album, "WAVES", Minan (whomever she might be, never heard of her until now) produces some of the most exquisite, ethereal sounds I have ever heard. Even an advanced synthesist would have to work hard to obtain such transparent, other-worldly textures and rhythms that will surely ...
| | Dr X Struggle CD (2002)
Hypochronic Stillness album
$15.19 Dr. X was formed in Dayton, Ohio in 1995. They played their first show at Oregon Express on September 23, 1995. They performed both covers and originals, including an early version of DMHC Man. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Ken Coggeshall, bassist Bill Staudt, drummer Jay Stueve, and guitarist Keith Wood. After Jay's departure in February 1996, Jim McMahan stepped in. The band spent much of the next year writing songs and playing lots of shows to sparse crowds. In March 1997, Jim left the band and was replaced by Steve Weller. This prompted a move towards a heavier sound, and audience size began to increase. In the fall of 1997, Dr. X began production on their self-titled debut CD at Aztek Recording Studio in Dayton, Ohio. The band signed with J-Bird Records in June 1998, coinciding with the release of their first CD. Their CD Release Party was a huge success; and this, along with an outstanding performance at the 1998 WTUE/Sanctuary ...
