"Teaching My Imagination" is a work of love showcasing the many moods of singer/songwriter Pancho Harrison. His thirty years of performing live in the Denver area have culminated in an intricate, thoughtful album featuring challenging lyrics, haunting melodies, and rich, layered vocal harmonies throughout. The tunes range from reflective country ballads to dark, jazzy urban pop songs. Harrison provided most of the vocals and instrumentation, using some of Denver's finest studio musicians for solo work here, giving the album a live, warm feel. "Teaching My Imagination" is a challenging work that can be listened to many times over, and still deliver. Teaching My Imagination album
$14.45 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the radio, gave her a list of what he considered 100 essential American songs; Cash kept that list, and now she's drawn on it for this wonderfully nuanced outing that brims with a kind of redemptive timelessness. THE LIST is a renewal and a testament to life, and it belongs to her father as much as ...

Teaching My Imagination songs
$10.25 Will Pope, a native of Ft. Worth, Texas (like Willie Nelson, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Denver, and a host of other famous and infamous people) is a recording artist and filmmaker on the cusp of realizing a permanent spot in the limelight with two new projects: A feature film for children based on a book by Will Pope entitled 'A Horse Called Jupiter,' and a brand new soundtrack (all Will Pope!) to accompany, by the same name. Will is the voice of Jupiter, as well as writer, director, and producer, and has carved fifteen puppets to star in the film by hand. Will made his public debut by writing, producing, and starring in the feature film 'Trailer-the Movie,' released in 2001 worldwide. He also starred in his own television comedy, 'Jack Robinson's Jolly Good Show,' as Jack Robinson, with a fifteen-member cast. He wrote for the screen in Hollywood for several years, and now has returned to Dallas to finish his new album and feature film. Will's history in Ft. Worth, growing up with eleven brothers and sisters, helped to shape his viewpoint of the world, and fed his aspirations for creative endeavor. Essentially a storyteller, Will recounts stories from his life in Texas and New Mexico, full of both pain and magic. His songs, screenplays, and novellas are beautiful and haunted, articulated in a vernacular that we as Americans can all relate to. The album 'A Mystery Underground' was written over several months in Mexico, at the home of his twin sister Mary, and was then recorded in Santa Fe at Taylor O'Connor's studio. Will was fortunate enough to purchase Bob Dylan's ...

Teaching My Imagination album
$9.35 I was raised in a small town by two crazy alcoholics who one day took a break from beating the crap out of each other just long enough to buy me a nylon stringed acoustic guitar. I was 12 and all about the rock (especially Def Leppard) but I got bored playing riffs on an acoustic so I started teaching myself to play classical guitar out of a book. A year or so later I convinced my mom to pay for classical lessons and eventually I got an electric guitar too. I played a lot with my brother who had just gotten a drum kit and when I was 14 we played in a band with two other kids in front of our entire high school. When I was 15 I started trying out my super twisted songwriting on friends. I remember grabbing my acoustic saying "hey listen to this!" and I'd sing a song about killing my date on prom night for fresh blood. Pretty much all of the songs I wrote as a teenager were meant to be funny and to entertain. Over the years I think I've gradually become more comfortable with expressing my (ahem) feelings, but lyrics even now that are supposed to be funny are still pretty dark, a theme that just suites me I suppose. When I was 18 I moved to Portland and took music classes at Mt Hood Community College delving way deep into classical guitar and music theory. (I could dork out all day talking about music theory.) I hooked up with a girl from class who played drums. We played my funny little songs together at house parties, on the street, for friends and pretty much anyone who would listen since we were too young to play in clubs. I banged away on my nylon strings and she played a snare drum with brushes. We recorded a handful of songs with Chad Crouch for a Hush Records compilation calling ourselves simply "Morgan & Jolie". It got written up in the Portland Rocket saying that we added "unexpected sparkle to the singer-songwriter vibe" of the comp and it was pretty exciting to see our name in the paper. Finally we both turned 21 and had our first real show at NXNW 1998. I went crazy booking shows and I remember having a pretty fun year before we split in 1999.Since those days I've traded off alot between playing solo and having a band. I've always really enjoyed watching a song morph from group to group. In May 2004, shortly after my last band split, I opened for Gothic Outhouse and met Sam Henry. We started working together on a recording project out of which emerged this new and amazing band I'm playing with now. Sam and I are hard at work on my ...
