Three2/Twenty-Three/Six/Twenty-Six
$13.65 More Music For Quiet Listening is a follow up to Music For Quiet Listening. I've included two more of my own compositions. Jubilant Jane and Her Adventures are 8 teaching pieces for the beginning to intermediate student, while Song For Michelle is a flowing, watery, impressionistic piece. Also herein is the rarely heard solo piano version of the sweeping The Dream of Olwen, as well as a selection of very beautiful early piano works by Howard Hanson. For Debussy lovers, I've included Reverie, Ballade, and the first Arabesque. There are also two arrangements of Bach works, the lovely Bach-Siloti Prelude in B minor as well as the heavenly Myra Hess version of Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. If you like The King and I, you will surely enjoy Stephen Hough's marvelous arrangements of Hello Young Lovers and The March of The Siamese Children.Besides being listened to with the scores, More Music for Quiet Listening can be used for the following purposes:a. As gentle background music to fall asleep to.b. While riding in a car, train or plane on long trips.c. During long computer applications or while writing your 1st book! Here is an online review from musicweb-international.com that appeared in 1/05. I have received many discs over the past few years from performers with their own personal labels. With little exception, I have not reviewed them because the level of artistry and technical command was unable to drag me away from my normal review regimen. These two discs from David DeLucia on his own label are an entirely different matter. His command of the piano's resources is quite impressive; I would have liked a little greater fluidity in his trills, ...
