| | 9D1 Invisible Girl CD 9D1 Discography of CDs
9D1 is the newest project by Dave MacLean following up the release of Sounds Like Dave/The Unforgiving Minute a few years back (also available on cdbaby). On this record, Dave enlists the help of two great singers, Danielle Pfuntner and Danielle Sillick, to breathe life into the songs. Dave and the two Danielle's are joined by some excellent local musicians including ex-Trey Anastasio (Phish) bassist Peter Chwazik, emmy-nominated composer/producer Casey Filiaci on keyboards, and the late guitar legend Mark Manetta, who lent his talents to one of the tunes. The music features a mix of genres including pop, alternative rock and a little R&B. 9D1 is named after Psalm 91, one of Daves favorite Psalms and often referred to as the Soldiers Prayer. It is meant to remind us of God's unwavering faithfulness, as well as the faithfulness of those who serve to protect our country. Dave says "I'm very pleased with how the record turned out. It took awhile to get here but its been worth the trip"I think you'll find that its worth a listen as well. Cameron... 2006 9D1 Invisible Girl Songs | 1. | Invisible Girl |

| | Alex Valentine Local History CD (2006) (Import)
Invisible Girl music CDs
$16.69 "Alex Valentines magical debut is a thing of plaintive beauty wich sends the likes of Zero 7 hurtling into oblivion. Supported by the music scenes finest, including drummer Dylan Howe. Valentine offers up the life affirming single Sunshine flanked by tales of awkward heartache and nervous affairs. Damien Rice will be quaking in his boots. In fact, even if you hate Rice youll love this if you have an ounce of romanticism in your body."Notion Magazine"Quality songs - most contain a stark beauty that marks Valentine out as a talent to watch for the future. Well worth seeking out" Indie London"Alex Valentine comes into the public eye this August with his first full album Local History. Singer-songwriters are much the in thing at the moment, almost as common as the wealth of bland Britpop esque bands making it big, but Valentine has a CD behind him that will stand him in good stead to break into the mainstream along with Rice, Blunt et al.In fact, this 12 track album sees Valentine expanding the singer, songwriter genre with thicker textures applied to his songs. Acoustic guitars aplenty there may be, but more care has been taken with the rest of the arrangements: at one point programmed drums feature, strings layer on top of the melodies, cars drive past on Truckstop Diner.Alex Valentine is gifted with the voice alone to attract attention. At the higher end of his range, Valentine is plaintive, while always restrained, and in his lower register his vocals are warm and rich. As a songwriter, there are standout tracks that highlight Valentines talent. The sublime chord changes in Spinning Wheel and The One You Want, the gentle, mournful textures of Lovelost Letter Home and Did I Try Too Hard?, and the heart-achingly poignant harmonies on stunning single Sunshine. Lyrically, Alex Valentine excels on Truckstop Diner, with the story of a twisted relationship between a young boy and an older woman. The high points of this album, portraying the undoubted talent here, should be enough to see this album picked up on and critically acclaimed." 4/5 GodisintheTV. "Through his music Alex has redefined the term beautiful" North Magazine"His voice is angelic, elevating his acoustica to ethereal realms." New Noise"Alex ...

| | Sam Jones My Front Porches CD (2002)
Invisible Girl songs
$15.19 Here's the newest NTD release from Big Orange Studios, a raw, emotional musical effort by singer/songwriter Sam Jones, the director of the Wilco documentary, "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart. Jones enlists a cast of characters from the worlds of rock, punk, and country. "My Front Porches" represents a departure from Jones' past songwriting style and musical leanings and finds Jones sliding comfortably into the roll of master of ceremonies to an eclectic crew of visiting musicians who get together behind the doors of Big Orange. They include Val McCallum, who is currently playing guitar for the Wallflowers, Davey Faragher, the bass player in Elvis Colstello's current band, and Dan McCarrol, the drummer for Aimee Mann, Sheryl Crow, the Grays, and others. The broad scope of style suggests a maturing Jones, while the arrangements and raw recordings show an artist unafraid to reveal the skeletal structure of the studio process. Here are ten new songs from Jones that still bite lyrically, a mix of urgency and angst. The difference is that these songs are now wrapped in a more worldly and wise package. In the punk rock anthem, "Astronauts in Motion," Jones writes about the demystification of heroes, while also exploring the psychological undercurrent of dementia: "we are astronauts in motion / divorcing ...
