| | Greg Grant Jupiter Watches CD Greg Grant Discography of CDs
Organic and original genre crossing rock. Funky, jazzy, soulful, sometimes folky, sometimes electronic; psychedelic and full of feeling. This is an album that has a full sound but doesn't suffer from overproduction. Once again Greg played guitar, saxophone and sang with James Whiton on double bass and Guido Perla on drums. Many of the songs were recorded in the moment, capturing the feeling of three great musicians in a room just doing what they love to do - playing music. It's a rock album, but all three musicians are well versed in jazz and improvisation and this freedom definitely comes through. This is almost like an album and a half - the first ten songs feature the band playing upbeat songs, and the next five songs are just Greg, taking the listener deep inside. In this time of computerization and plastic disposable music, this is an album of real musicians playing real music with a real message. Greg Grant Jupiter Watches Songs | 1. | Everything To Me |

Jupiter Watches music CDs
$17.75 Sloan Wainwright has been a pioneer all her life. A forerunner in the independent music scene long before it became hip to walk the road less traveled. Sloan is an artist whose passionate work and extraordinary life have fused to burn a new definition for women in music. Grown up girl style. An outstanding and highly original singer, Sloan is a compelling performer best known for her rich contralto voice, intensely personal lyrics, and an innovative approach to song. Hard to categorize, her musical style melds the best of rock, folk, jazz and blues to create a soulful hybrid. Her personal appearances are forceful and uplifting, her stage persona self-described as "we take our audience on a journey, we come in full tilt and do our show." "Exploring everything from childhood to Sept. 11, the trio delivers songs in what is not only a well-timed display of musical cohesion but also a full-throttle emotional ride."(The Washington Post)"...when Wainwright lets loose, no one's music can match hers for sheer liberating gusto."(Dirty Linen)Born into a highly acclaimed musical family (youngest sister to Louden Wainwright, auntie to Rufus) Sloan's teenage years were largely influenced by a constant flow of diverse artists, writers and musicians. She learned to play the piano and watched as her brother Louden, 11 years older, and the father of Rufus and Martha, became successful. Writing and performing, throughout the Greenwich Village hipster scene, Sloan developed her own unique style. In the mid 90's Sloan began to collaborate with guitarist Stephen Murphy. A band was put together and subsequently released a self-titled debut CD in 1996. The CD was a critical success and introduced Sloan to a national audience. The Sloan Wainwright Band followed with a second release in 1998. A tribute in memory of her ...

| | Heavyhead Mr. Possum & Other Tales CD (2004)
Jupiter Watches music CDs
$11.39 About Our Band:What if The Posies and Kings X got into a fight, Steely Dan broke it up, and they all got drunk and watched Schoolhouse Rock for eleven hours or so? You might end up with Heavyhead. All jokes aside, it's about as good as any other description. There are four guys in this band with musical tastes and influences that run the gamut. I'm probably the most eclectic (I'm Jerry, the bass player, by the way; referring to myself in the third person is too pretentious, even for me). I go from The Beatles to Tool and points beyond. Davey's a close second, and we're pretty similar; his roots are on the heavier side (he played for Trouble a few years ago) but he's open to just about anything. Tom was raised on 70s rock and New Wave, and he's big on the Brits (Bowie, Floyd, Stones, etc...). Eric's easily the biggest Beatles fan, and he's also really into the Dead, CSNY, stuff like that. We have lots of things in common, but we each have bands we like that the other three wouldn't have anything to do with. Surprisingly enough, though, bringing it all together hasn't been a problem, which has more to do with personal, rather than musical, roots. The four of us had been friends long before Heavyhead was even imagined. I was in my first working band with Tom, too many years ago to mention! I played with Dave in another group for a long time, and Tom and Eric worked together, both as an acoustic duo and in bands, for longer. As a result, the friendship that would take another band years to develop was already in place for ours before it began, and ...
| | Sleeping Dogs Lie Slightly Confusing To A Stranger CD
Jupiter Watches songs
$12.65 "Slightly confusing to a stranger" is the third of five cds from Sleeping Dogs Lie. Released in 2000, this cd is the most experimental of the Sleeping Dogs Lie CD releases. The music is well-written, home-recorded, lofi, interesting and creative. Just music made for the love of making noise until it does something. Now, THAT'S the way to record music! Sleeping Dogs Lie is loose group of musicians headed up by songwriter / musician Eric Guenette with an ever revolving cast of musicians that sit in on various recordings. Some of the other musicians include Jim Sarmiento / bass, Darryl Shea / bass, Michael Grillo / electronics, Jerry Jordan / percussion, Holly Guenette / random instruments, Sean Guenette / trumpet, David Conway / vocals, Bowie / meowing, David Goodman / guitar & vocals, Ron Macapayag / percussion, Todd Zimmerman / voice, Scotty Jefferson / guitar among others... Sleeping Dogs Lie came to be in 1995 with ...
