| | Sleeping Dogs Lie Joy CD (1997)
Philosophy 101 songs
$12.65 “Joy” may very well be the most creative of the Sleeping Dogs Lie CDs. There's songs about telethon hosts, an armhair named "Jerry" Garcia, lost pets, dirty nuns, aliens, corrupt government officials, Ron Jeremy, the witness protection program, satanic boyscouts, bad computer salesmen, fat slobs, my friend Maria, Monty Python, disease, a beer drinkin' fetus, presidents, mall rats and other neglected subjects...Strange enough though, there is a lot of good songs on the CD. Jake Cline of CITY LINK Magazine said “David Geffen was missing out…” after giving it a four-star rating.Sleeping Dogs Lie is loose group of musicians headed up by songwriter / musician Eric Guenette with an ever revolving cast of musicians that sit in on various recordings. Some of the other musicians ...

| | Westavwas - Acoustic Rock CD (2002)
Philosophy 101 CD music
$11.39 Westavwas is made up of Ryan Choate, David Prince, Jeff Taylor and Stuart Edwards. Ryan and Stuart started playing together in February 2001. Jeff joined up in April and David in May. Ryan and Stuart played their first performance at Legend's, a club in Boone, NC, at Appalachian State. In front of a 200+ crowd, Ryan and Stuart got their first taste of stardom and haven't looked back since. They subsequently formed Westavwas and everything else is history. Look for the schedule of upcoming gigs and events to be posted in our News/Press section soon at www.westavwas.com.Thank you all for supporting us and our music. When you are passionate about something, don't ever give up. You can make your dreams come true with hard work and dedication. Here is a little bio on our bandmates:Ryan Choate was born November 16, 1981 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He is 19 years of age and has been playing guitar for five (5) years. One of the unique things about Ryan is that he originally started playing a right-handed guitar upside down because he is left-handed. He later switched over and started playing a left-handed guitar the correct way. He has been playing this way for the past two (2) years. Ryan's musical inspirations are his dad Charlie, Led Zeppelin, Live, Counting Crows, DMB and his current bandmates. Current CD in the CD player: "From Chaos" by 311.David Prince, 19 years of age, was born in Brunswick, Georgia. He has been playing bass for about seven years. David was the last member to join Westavwas. After many months of Stuart calling and trying to convince him to play bass, David gave it a shot. This style of music was a change from the hard core and punk music he used to listen to. After a few months of playing, David realized that this was where he needed to be. His main influences are Victor Wooten of Bela Fleck, Abraham Laboriel, and Les Claypool. People he would like to thank are his parents for letting him practice and make noise in their house, Tom for letting me use your gear for many years, and my band for understanding who I am....your eternal brother. | | Thunderegg Very Fine Sample Of What's Available At The Mine CD (2005)
Philosophy 101 music CDs
$10.15 The first full-band album from Thunderegg--who up till now had only been the low-fi daydream of singer/guitarist Will Georgantas. Recorded in and around Hartford, CT, by Nathan Gohla on a shoestring budget, A VERY FINE SAMPLE OF WHAT'S AVAILABLE AT THE MINE features ten classic Egg tunes including the ever-popular “If I Went on a Diet” (chosen by JANE Magazine for the 2002 Reader-Produced CD). Guests include Connecticut keyboard virtuoso Jonathan Chatfield, trumpeter Tim Kane, Oregonian guitarist Tom Colligan, and Gohla himself. A very fun record."It's records like this one that offer hope for Connecticut's original music scene." --Eric Danton, Hartford Courant About Thunderegg:Originally three-sixths of a rock group that went by the name of Larry and always had at least one more keg at the gig than the next band, the nucleus of Thunderegg (Will Georgantas, guitar/vocal; Jake Fournier, bass; Keith "Woodpile" Woodfin, drums) has been playing together since the fall of 1993, when practice space was free in cellars and activity rooms, the conga player didn't need to be miked at all, and, for optimum efficiency, the bass, rhythm guitar, and keyboards were all plugged into the same Peavey amp. After college, ...
