TERRY WOOLARD- SONGWRITER, ARRANGER, PERFORMER, RECORDING ARTIST -I owe my initial interest in music to both my Father, the late Bishop Lonnie C. Woolard Sr., and to my Mother, Violet Ann Woolard, who is a missionary in the church and is also both a piano player and vocalist. At an early age my Father paid for my Brother and I to take piano lessons. The piano lessons that I took were intended for me to both have a career teaching music, and also to allow for me to play for the church. Ultimately, I found my interest in the field of entertainment.I began listening to and identifying with music of all genres. In high school my thirst for music deepened as I continued to study. After high school, I got my first job - working as a customer sales and service representative at the Middletown Press publishing company. The money I earned there allowed me to advance my music education. I studied jazz improvisation and music theory at Wesleyan University. During that time I bought my first professional keyboard, a Korg Poly 61, and began performing at various functions around the community.I built a home studio, recorded a number of my original compositions, and subsequently began to receive airplay on a number of college radio stations.
