| | Johnda Unsigned Hype CD Johnda Discography of CDs
15 years......is how long Johnda has been writing rhymes, but her true passion for music was discovered three years before that at the age of 7. That is when several years of violin lessons began, and she received her first musical awards for excellence. Johnda is a writer.... Growing up with 5 aunts as teachers, a love for literature was inevitable; by the age of 10 Johnda had written a mass amount of poems, short stories, a children's book and her first rap song. Hundreds more would follow... Johnda is a businesswoman... Johnda began working at the age of 11, and has not stopped grindin' since. She knew at an early age that ownership was what suited her best, so that became the goal and creed of her existence. February 1, 2002 Green Gala Entertainment, Inc. was established with the goal of independently releasing her music. With her mom as her cheerleader, endless hours of research was done in hopes of developing the best cost-effective way for 1 person to achieve what normally takes a staff with investors to accomplish. Meanwhile, Johnda also began performing and recording, both locally and abroad to develop her sound and perfect her stage presence. After one year of heavily honing her craft, the research came back unanimous: Johnda needed some serious damn money! So on 6/16/2004 Green Gala Properties, a subsidiary of Green Gala Entertainment, was developed and her first investment property was purchased. Several more would follow with all profits to fund the entertainment divisions' current project titled Unsigned Hype. It features four singles to feed the publics demand for and the industry's lack of hot music, with a full album coming soon... Unsigned Hype
$11.49 In pre-release interviews, Royce da 5'9" laid out a perfect description of his style: a Detroit kid brought up on Nas whose head was sent spinning once Eminem came around. Three years in the making--twelve months in prison for a DUI being part of the problem--STREET HOP often has a solid foundation that's absolutely classic in feel but also features those quirky, sick-o rhymes that are distinctly post-Shady. "I mix a between Chris Brown and Chris Jericho/Where's your daughter?" is an unsettling bit from the freaky track "Street Hop 2010" which goes on to ...

$10.45 Though Ray Charles, one of the greatest singers of the 20th century, was never in need of vocal assistance, he was no stranger to duets either (one of his finest records is a duet album with Betty Carter). For as much of a musical giant as he was, Brother Ray knew how to share the spotlight, as evidenced by GENIUS LOVES COMPANY, his final project before his 2004 passing. In keeping ...

Unsigned Hype
$9.75 Singer/rapper/songwriter, KenyonaâŠâŠaka, Lady Charles. Born in Brooklyn, New York, KENYONA's childhood was shaped in the Hollis section of, Queens, NY, where her family had moved and where she grew up in the long shadows and influence of some of rap musicâs greatest pioneers, RUN DMC and LL COOL J. In fact, Little Kimmie, as they called Kenyona on the block, delivered newspapers to the house of DMCâs parents. Kenyonaâs experience as an artist began in high school where she had teamed up with lifelong friend, Lisa, and they out- spit the guys in cyphers. Kenyona, who had come to be known as âEarthâs Angelâ next hooked up with female vocalist, Dove, and the two performed as âAngel Doveâ, with Kenyona doing the rapping while Dove handled the singing. But soon, Kenyona discovered that she could sing as well. So it wasnât long before âEAâ was doing shows on her own, rapping and singing. In a Manhattan studio one night while laying down a guest verse on an album for New York rapper, Poetry the Rugged Don, Kenyona was heard by a rep for independent label, BeatForce Recordings. That one verse was enough to catch the labelâs attention and after numerous meetings, resulted in Kenyona inking a recording contract with BeatForce Recordings. Kenyona spent months searching for the hottest beats, writing and recording, all the while holding down a full-time job. The result of her hard work is the auspicious debut CD, âRAZE HELL âTIL ITâS HEAVENâ, a melange of funk, crunk and sophistication.Undeniably a skilled lyricist, Kenyona, who likens her style to a blend of Missy Elliot and R. Kelly, embraces a pen and writes with an intensity which she unleashes in her vocal dynamism. An example of her intensity is found in the touching composition, "Departure", which addresses a mother's agonizing ambivalence associated with abortion, showing KENYONA to be not only ...
| | My Former Self Old Stuff CD (2007)
Unsigned Hype
$6.39 2005 was a huge year for up-and-coming, My Former Self. Hailing from musically eclectic San Jose, Ca, this five-piece pop-rock powerhouse redefined the âDo-It-Yourselfâ plan, paving their way all on their own. After a few years in the garage, My Former Self used 2005 to break out of the South Bay Area, California. Since June, the band has played more than 100 shows in over 20 states, were featured on select dates of Warped Tour 2005 and completed pre-production for their new record when Jon Seibels (formerly of Eve 6) took the band under his wing for a few weeks in his Pasadena studio. With an extremely hard work ethic, the band has had no problem staying independent. Following in the footsteps of their most successful predecessors, My Former Self goes the extra mile to play free high school shows while at home and on tour. Not only has this helped them sell a significant amount of records but also remarkably increases the attendance at club performances. My Former Self is working harder then ever generating more accomplishments, and gaining more recognition amongst industry professionals alike. This year, the band has been featured on many compilations including Drive Thru/Purevolumeâs, âBands You Love, Heard of, and Should Knowâ, Horn Managements ...
