This is a blues guitar CD representative of bluesy musical styles influenced by Freddy King, Jr. Walker, Eric Clapton, as well as many R&B, and Rock'n Roll artists. The title song 'Nawlins Renaissance' is my vision of New Orleans coming back because it has to. This CD was Recorded in New Orleans and the proceeds from this CD will be donated to New Orleans reovery efforts. Buy a CD - help the cause. "When I first saw Tony Vegas he was playing with "The Green Card Band" at one of the top tourist spots in Panama City Beach. Tony would open the shows stating "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we're The Green Card Band here to make sure your property values plummet" -- That is kind of ironic since Tony is a very successful Real Estate broker in the area. Tony was doing Latin renditions of just about every Beatle hit. Tony (Cuban born and raised) along with two (very Latin) percussionists was kicking all kinds of Latin grooves out to us -- Old Cuban standards, clever renditions, original material, a lot of Santana stuff, and then he'd play the blues. When Tony plays the blues you know right where his heart is -- Tony tells a funny story about when he first heard Eric Clapton play Hideaway back in 1967 -- Man, it was the coolest, I learned every lick! Then I jammed with these old blues guys and I was really surprised that they knew Hideaway, I told them I picked that up from Eric Clapton, but they quickly told me that I was playing Freddy King! -- I went and got all his records." First inspired by Van Halen's classic song "Hot For Teacher", Olney, IL native Brent Rubsam was age 7 when he first picked up a guitar in 1983, and he's been hooked ever since. Through the years he has played and sang in a multitude of bands playing everything from blues to hard rock. One of Brent's main influences over the years has been the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan. Since the day he first heard Stevie Ray's playing, he's been inspired to develop his own bluesy & aggressive style on the guitar. Other influences include Warren Haynes, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, BB King, Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Eric Clapton, Tommy Castro, Popa Chubby, Walter Trout, Gary Moore, and many others.Brent currently keeps busy teaching 40 plus guitar students a week at his home in Olney, IL and by playing between 100 to 150 dates a year both solo acoustic and with the hardest working band in Illinois, "Blind Date." **Cheap Shot Bio** Cheap Shot, straight out of Staten Island, New York, is one of New York's greatest up and coming hard-core/metal bands. When it comes to creativity and stage presence they can be compared to most of today's top acts. Some of their influences include bands like Papa Roach, Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne and Atreyu. With their mixed flavor of hard-core/metal and super energetic performances many believe these guys are unstoppable. Cheap Shot has come a long way from when they first started back in 1999. Being a metal band starting out in a music community that was predominately made up of punk bands, caused some conflicts.
