Waterfall: Essential Dance Remix Collection music CDs
$14.15 Michael Spriggs is one of the unsung greats of Nashville guitar, having played with everyone from Faith Hill to Elton John, B.B. King to George McCorkle. With Without Words, Spriggs turns in an exceptionally beautiful album filled with variety and precision guitar work.
The veteran Nashville guitarist is joined by Steve Brewster on percussion, Jonathan Yudkin on classical strings and mandolin, and Richard Brannan on bass to create an album that can only be called contemporary country. There are no twangs, plucks, or sawing fiddles, but instead a mixture of classical and rustic strokes painted against a country background. There are even Celtic nuances. It's almost a Windham Hill approach to guitar, filled with imagery and warmth.
With the release of Without Words, Spriggs' songwriting (he has enjoyed over 60 album cuts) and guitar playing are sure to be taken to yet another level of awareness, and, hopefully, an ever larger audience of appreciative fans. ~ Michael B. Smith
BillboardMICHAEL SPRIGGS Without Words Producer(s): Michael Spriggs Agnes 7001 Genre: NEW AGE PICK Originally reviewed for week ending 1/8/00 Michael Spriggs is a veteran Nashville guitarist who has recorded with Eddie Rabbitt and LeAnn Rimes. Additionally, he's written hits for Kenny Rogers and Lee Greenwood. That said, an atmospheric instrumental album may not be what you'd expect for his solo debut, but that's precisely what he has so deftly created. Working with Steve Brewster on global percussion, Jonathan Yudkin on classical strings and mandolin, and Richard Brannan on bass, Spriggs orchestrates a pastoral landscape that's pure country without the twang. Rustic on "Snaefell Rails," ethereal on "Laxey's Wheel," and classical on "She Was Only," Spriggs orchestrates a chamber folk music. This is the kind of album you might have expected from Windham Hill a few years ago: intimate and warm, with precision playing in the service of tunes full of imagery. Although the subtitle, "Reflections ...

Waterfall: Essential Dance Remix Collection songs
$10.15 Singer/Songwriter Carl Elizondo brings experience to his craft. Indulging in writing, playing, producing & recording, all created by Carl at his Soundesign Studio located in Sparks, near Reno Nevada. Carl has many influences some being of course The Beatles,Oasis, Kasabian, India Influences mixed with the 60\'s psychedelia and world music percussion.Along with playing drums, guitar, keys, bass & vocals Carl is a B&W photographer & oil on canvas artist, and maybe a bit psychotic?..... Perhaps. a true Warrior Poet !please check out carlelizondo Carl Elizondo\'s Crystal Ball by Bobby Collini- Freelance WriterIt was up an elevator to the 22nd floor of an undisclosed hotel deep in the city of New York, not far from the now infamous Ground Zero, where I found myself not knowing what to expect from this relatively unknown artist. I went over some of the questions in my head as I walked down the hallway on a French style carpet in the hotel. My knock on the door brought a shorter, rather wild raven haired guy with a big smile to greet me. After getting the formalities out of the way, I made myself comfortable in the rather uncomfortable hotel chair, as Carl moved his open luggage bag to relax on the sofa, and opened a Diet Coke. BC: So what prompted you to write this collection of tunes?CE; Woah!, talk about to the point! (laughs) Uh, well... I don\'t know HmmBC: Ok ok , what\'s your music background??CE: Whew! better. I grew up in Los Angeles back in the late 70\'s early 80\'s in the local music scene. I played in many local groups at clubs like the Starwood or the Whiskey, where it was common to see David Lee Roth, or Joey Ramone hanging out at the bar. I\'m a drummer by trade, but I always remember hearing a million melodies in my head at two o\'clock in the morning serenading my insomnia. Without formal song writing abilities, I sat back, played drums and learned from those guitarists and bass players around me who knew how to write a song, kinda mentally took notes \'ya know. I\'ve always been torn between the very heavy loud aggressive songs and real wimpy sappy kind of broken heart songs. BC: some of the tunes have a very 60\'s British feel to them, what influences you in your song writing?CE: Years ago I was introduced ...
