(4 Customer Reviews)
The outrageous Little Richard burst on the rock & roll scene with a succession of high-energy recordings in the mid 1950s. Fueled by an unfettered New Orleans backbeat, he combined gospel fervor and orgasmic delight in equal doses, hammering the piano keys with barely checked passion. HERE'S LITTLE RICHARD contains a number of Richard's essential performances, including "The Girl Can't Help It," "Tutti Frutti," and "Keep a Knockin'," with almost every track an integral part of pop history. **Super Audio CD (SACD) Hybrid** This CD will play in standard CD players. A Super Audio CD player is required to take advantage of the SACD sound technology. Here's Little Richard Music Here's Little Richard Music Here's Little Richard Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Has 24 not 23 tracks including 'Lucille' Given it's age sounds great, even though in mono. Is especially good when played in the SACD layer. Only lists 23 tracks on the outer sleeve but contains 24 tracks, the 24 being 'Lucille'. "Louie Jordan invented it, Elvis was the white king..." ...but Little Richard was, without a doubt, the black king of rock & roll! Or queen, depending on how deep you criticize his personality. This music is the hottest vibe to touch human ears since the torching of Sodom & Gommorah. Every song is a winner. I've never heard such an explosion created by a drummer, sax player, bassist, and vocalist ever, except only by Little Richard. He shaped the face of music in the '50's and every generation since have been the wise benefactors of an undeniable master of the trade. Grandpa will feel like 21 all over again if you score him this cd for Christmas, or sooner. Timeless R&R without the nickz & gashes of a pointless video!!! Buy a different set if it will be your only one I can't understand how anyone could create a Little Richard set with 23 songs and NOT include "Lucille", the single favorite song of Mr. Penniman (and mine) and the ultimate in a controlled explosion of a groove.
Someone felt that "Baby Face" and "By The Light Of The Silvery Moon" were more important to include. Go figure. Submitted by Mike (Laurel, MD, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 2 found this helpful.

Few debut singles in the history of rock & roll have had the immediate and overwhelming impact of The Byrds' version of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man." Marrying a Beatles-like electric jangle to Dylan's insight and folky melody (in many ways, breaking Dylan into the pop market), it not only forecast the band's influence on the future of pop music but reestablished an American rock & roll presence in the face of the British Invasion. The album of the same name, released in June of 1965, was a shotgun blast before the canon roar that Dylan's HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED (released just two months later) ...
| | Band CD (1969) Gold; Remastered
Here's Little Richard album
$25.89 Initially renowned as Bob Dylan's backing group, the Band emerged from the singer's shadow to proclaim a distinctive talent. Drawing upon a musical canon embracing soul, country, folk and rock `n' roll, the quintet created a unique sound that was quintessentially American. Its rustic qualities were enhanced by principle songwriter Robbie Robertson who created vistas suggestive of a pre-industrial age, and as such, captured the restlessness of the late 60s without the need for explicit manifestos. Expressive singing, sublime melodies and telepathic musicianship instils The Band with quality, but its adult themes and perspectives ...
| | Doors Soft Parade CD (1969) Gold; Remastered
Here's Little Richard CD music
$20.29 Dismissed by the benighted as the Doors' "pop album," SOFT PARADE is one of the band's most adventurous recordings, utilizing strings and horns without resorting to schlocky over-production and moving far beyond their blues roots. Morrison was fully into his shaman phase by 1969, and his obsession with that image is reflected in the proselytizing air of "Tell All the People," and of course "Shaman's Blues." The album's biggest hit "Touch Me," while easily the group's most radio-friendly offering, is a pop classic that ranks among the great '60s AM radio tunes. "Wild Child" is a brief return to the blues-rock of yore, but the title ...
