Acadie En Chanson album
$10.45 A classic release from one of Jamaica's greats, NIGHT NURSE shows the Cool Ruler at his best--performing melodic, chilled reggae such as the title track and "Hot Stepper." The title track was a hit for Simply Red when they covered it in 1997. Although at his most prolific in the mid '80s, when he was beset by financial problems, Isaacs managed to maintain the quality of his material as this album proves. The Roots Radics provide excellent backing for Isaacs' smooth vocals. Perhaps a bit too mellow for fans of more militant reggae such as that purveyed by the Revolutionaries, time has nevertheless proved this to be a classic reggae album--the epitome of the feel-good Jamaican sound.
Although his 1981 album, More Gregory, was picked up for international ...

| | Emily Burridge Earth Songs: The Magic Cello Of The Rain Forest CD (1995)
Acadie En Chanson album
$11.49 "As she advances in her musical vocation without paying attention to conventionalisms, this woman has succeeded in shaping a very personal, direct style, which attracts the attention of the listener very easily indeed."JORGE MUNNSHE - www.amazings.comEarth Songs ~ Emily Burridge's first production was released in 1994 and has now been re-mastered and released on the artist's own label: White Horse World Music. The energetic source for the music was a journey made by Emily to the Mato Grosso Forest and the Amazon Forest of Brazil. Staying in a vast raw natural environment, bathing in waterfalls at dawn, such experiences fed her senses in such a way that on returning to England she was inspired to convert these memories to sound and commenced writing lyrics which reflect experiences of this time.Staying in such nature devoid of your customary comforts and securities, your perspective shifts an experience that North American Indians call a vision quest.Emily combines her mellow 'cello and singing with classical harmonies and percussion, tribal chant and ethnic instruments.Jody Linscott plays drums and ethnic percussion on "Listen to the Kogi Speak" and "Running Man". Shozo Nagao plays didgeridoo on "Running Man" and "Waking Freedom".Davi Kopenawa Yanomami recites the Yanomami myth for creation on Yanomami.Lyrics by Emily Burridge "Running Man"We are Rock, Stone, FeatherSnowflake, Crystal, TreeEarth, Sky, Moon,River, Water, Sea.Running Man, Running Man.There is laughing, there is cryingRunning manThere is fighting, they are starvingRunning ManThere is darkness, there is shadow,Running ManLook for light, there is loveRunning man.Look for love there is light Running manRunning man Running Man."Listen to the Kogi Speak" features recordings of the Kogi Indians of Columbia.
