| | Aaron Carter Oh Aaron CD Aaron Carter Discography of CDs
Contains an untitled hidden track which occurs after "Cowgirl (Lil' Mama)."
Even if adolescent pop star Aaron Carter is destined to become the Jimmy Osmond of the 21st Century, he's determined to go out fighting. Following up the huge success of its predecessor, OH AARON follows a similar formula, employing elements of R&B, hip-hop and pure pop production. Though the title song concerns Carter's difficulty in scoring a boatload of tickets to a Backstreet Boys concert for his friends, the young pop idol largely eschews the romantic ballad style of said teenpoppers--that may come after he gets a bit more puberty under his belt. Instead, this is largely a party album, powered by funky synth bass, drum loops, and sock-it-to-'em hooks. On "Not Too Young, Not Too Old," Carter sings about playing both sides of the age game to his advantage. "Stride" finds Aaron rapping over the chorus of Matthew Wilder's '80s hit "Break My Stride." Though he engages in an amiable rap style for most of the album, Carter does manage to croon one sentimental ballad, "I'm All About You," which will surely have his predominantly female following weeping into their junior high yearbooks.

Purchase Oh Aaron CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Paul Butterfield Blues Band CD (1965)
Oh Aaron album
$6.19 The '60s Blues Revival begins here. Calling this album influential is an understatement akin to calling the Grand Canyon a rut; suffice to say that an entire generation of musicians (mostly young and white) heard this and had their lives changed forever. In fact, for at least a year after the album's release in 1965, it was impossible to ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Oh Aaron CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling ...
| | Drive-By Truckers Southern Rock Opera CDs (2001) Digipak
Oh Aaron music CDs
$11.99 A sprawling two-disc set, the Drive-By Truckers' SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA is a cracked masterpiece that's enjoyable on several different levels. Hipsters might enjoy the giggly premise of a two-disc set devoted to a slightly altered retelling of the rise and fall of 1970s Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd. Progressive rock fans lamenting the modern era's relative lack of story-driven albums divided into "Act I" and "Act II" will latch onto SOUTHERN ...
| | Antony I Am A Bird Now CD (2005)
Oh Aaron songs
$12.49 Though he probably achieved his greatest mainstream recognition backing up Lou Reed on tour, idiosyncratic songbird Antony is a fully established artiste in his own right. Backed by the Johnsons, as on I AM A BIRD NOW, he crafts delicate ballads that skirt the lines between cabaret, artsong, and pop, with the kind of voice that Stephin Merritt would probably kill for. Antony's unique pipes bring to mind an androgynous Bryan Ferry or a high, quavery summit meeting between Jimmy Scott (another Reed supporter) and Aaron Neville. The stately, graceful, largely piano-driven songs on I AM A ...
| | Dredg Catch Without Arms CD (2005)
Oh Aaron album
$8.49 Early on, critics often described Dredg as a metal group. However, the quartet has since matured into a hard-edged indie-rock ensemble that seeks diversity and refinement in its music. On CATCH WITHOUT ARMS, the band favors highly orchestrated ...

Destructive, mischievous, and politically incorrect are just some of the words to describe L.A.'s Angry Samoans. And with their second album Back From Samoa, they remain to have that inability to care about who's ...
| | Simon Nabatov Nature Morte CD (2001)
Oh Aaron album
$14.39 To record this work based on Joseph Brodsky's poem "Nature Morte," Nabatov has assembled an extraordinary ensemble: vocalist Phil Minton, reed player Frank Gratkowski, trombonist Nils Wogram & Nabatov on piano. As Stuart Boomer writes in his notes, "Simo
"Nature Morte" is the title of a poem written in 1971 by Joseph Brodsky. He and pianist Simon Nabatov were both born in Russia and later resettled in America. Nabatov took the ten-part poem, a rich conjuration of life and death, and wrote what can only be described as an ambitious song cycle, even though the fact that Phil Minton sings it means one must stretch his usual definition of the word "song." Trombonist Nils Wogram and saxophonist Frank Gratkowski (also heard on clarinet, bass clarinet, and flute) complete this impressive quartet. Nature Morte is a work of symbiosis, first between Brodsky's words and Nabatov's music, then between the music and the very talented musicians, the words and Minton's interpretation ...

| | Daughter Darling Sweet Shadows CD (2002)
Oh Aaron album
$15.19 "Voted Best Trip Hop Album of 2003" www.tripofagia.comNominated "Best CD of 2003" for the Philly Music Awards. Philadelphia's Daughter Darling takes on the extremely diverse genre of trip-hop and breathes life into it. Natalie Walker's voice drips with soul, but it's the lyrics she sings that take this CD to the next level. She conjures up sounds reminiscent of Sarah Mclachlan and sometimes Fiona-esque way of delivering lyric contraventions and undulating emotions. Her heavenly voice floats in a storm of brilliant, dark piano and strings while dazed slow, slightly monstrous beats churn against their beauty. Sweet Shadows bleeds gorgeous string sections, classical piano playing, siren like harmonies and combines them with lush textured beats . This project is the culmination of 6 years of beat production, the most talented piano, guitar and string players, a world class DJ battle champion and a girl who knew she was going to be a singer since the age of 3. "USA-based Daughter Darling could well be the revelation of 2003" -www.triphop.hu-" Natalie Walker lays her singular voice like an angel with groove"-www.infratunes.com"Natalie's voice, which sounds eerily ...

| | Cajun Champs CD (2004)
Oh Aaron music CDs
$13.59 Cajun Champs is an excellent sampler that explores traditional Louisiana music lovingly compiled by two well-known scholars of the genre, Chris Strachwitz, the president of Arhoolie Records, and Beausoleil fiddler Michael Doucet. The 22 tracks cover five decades of music dominated by the finest traditional fiddlers, accordionists, and vocalists, including Joe Falcon, Dewey Balfa, the Hackberry Ramblers, and Harry Choates. While all of this material has been previously released, the disc sounds great and is highly recommended as a starting point for the novice. ~ Al Campbell
