Dol Guldur music CDs
$13.45 Over the course of several albums, Austrian black metal act Summoning perfected a particularly widescreen version of progressive black metal, a style that more recently has been infused with an almost medieval strain of twiddly folk music of the lutes 'n' flutes variety. Oath Bound dials back slightly on the Ren ...

| | Holy Moses Strength Power Will Passion CD (2005)
Dol Guldur CD music
$13.15 German thrash metal combo Holy Moses has been at it, with occasional interruptions, since 1980, a remarkably long time in a subgenre not known for its band longevity. Furthermore, the band has had comparatively little changeover, keeping lead singer Sabina Classen (yes, she's a woman) throughout and only losing founding guitarist and primary songwriter Andy Classen prior to the recording of this album. What that means is that longtime Holy Moses fans will find the group's tenth album just as satisfying as its many predecessors, but anyone who wasn't impressed before won't find their minds changed. Andy Classen's ...

| | Allen Ramsey CD (2004)
Dol Guldur songs
$11.39 Allen Ramsey didn't start writing songs to make a record. He didn't play in bars and honky-tonks trying to get a record deal. The self-titled debut CD from Allen Ramsey proves that, for Allen, it's all about making and playing music.....good music. His songwriting and gravelly vocal combined with superb production create an outstanding collection of music that show Allen for exactly what he is. Those who have seen him live will no doubt agree. This new release, from Wooden Pickle Records, includes all original material written or co-written by Ramsey. The CD begins with "Be That Way Again" a torch song where Ramsey laments "maybe this is just a phase....God I hope it's just a phase" about a declining relationship. The Traveling Wilbury-style "Happy" intertwines sarcasm with a straight-ahead groove and rocking guitars. Ramsey's lyrics take you to places we've all been, and he belts it out in a way that lets you know he's singing about things we've all experienced. The CD is tastefully filled with undertones of steel guitar, mandolin, and dobro that reflect Ramsey's roots and musical influences. The collection of songs includes several beer drinking, bar sing-alongs such as "Tear In My Eye" and "Drunk Again", but the he shows his story-telling skills in "No Other Way (Farm Song)" about a farmer forced into smuggling marijuana to save his farm. The CD was ...
| | Transient Camp Hope! CD (2006)
Dol Guldur album
$11.39 "If Zeppelin and the Who had played Christian-themed rock, this would be the result."Unconventional blues-rock-pop-etc. with essentially Christian lyrics and message. Underlying Transient Camp's music is the desire to point towards the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and encourage and build up those who are already in the family of believers. Music is a gift from God and, when done right, it can be a powerful tool for getting a point across. Transient Camp's two founding members, Chris Miuccio and Drew Jessel, began performing rock, pop and blues originals via live shows in Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley under the band names "Xanax" and "Witness" with a variety of musicians. In 1992, under the name "Transient Camp" (inspired by John Steinbecks "The Grapes of Wrath") they recorded their first CD, "Unchained From Mankind", featuring songs of a personal nature with references to their Christian faith. Selections from the CD aired on KLOS (Los Angeles) local music show. Soon thereafter, they began writing lyrics that reflected more than just a cursory nod to their Christian faith. "Praise My Lord" featured bold and blatant Christian proclamations and was well received by the various Christian youth groups before whom they were now performing. 1995 saw the completion of "Its A Wonderful Life?" (re-release available soon through CD Baby!), an ambitious concept album which documents one man's search for meaning in a world devoid of substance and hope. The song cycle tackles difficult subjects including politics, media, infatuation, abortion (sung from the unique perspective of the unborn baby), televangelism, soul searching, the Bible and Jesus Christ. The band went on a temporary hiatus while marriage and fatherhood took priority over songwriting & performing. Only a few sporadic live shows were done during this time. In 1999, many of their songs were posted at MP3.com, where they received encouraging comments from around the world (even as far away as Latvia). "Always Everywhere" reached the top 10, and three other tunes made the top ...
