John Tomson and Don Parish have been friends and music collaborators for over 30 years. Even though they share common interests, their life paths have followed radically different and varied directions. Both grew up in the San Diego area, John joined the Navy out of High School and served in Viet Nam where he was decorated with the Navy Achievement medal. John a self-taught musician got his first gig while still in the Navy. Returning to civilian life, he used the Electronics training from the service to enter into Specialty Systems engineering. Shortly there after John started his own Corporation and became a successful Systems contractor; JT Specialty Systems, Inc. which is still going strong. John met Don while Don was playing music in San Diego and became friends and musical partners. Don a classically trained musician, started his professional musical career after graduating from college. He has traveled extensively with many name bands and has had several recording contracts. The last few years Don has taught High School in the San Diego area.John and Don decided to bring their music back to the public with the PainKiller Club CD. Thanks to the encouragement of Charles Tobias, they have written and produced a CD with original music. John and Don hope you enjoy the music and again want to thank PUSSER'S RUMĀ® and staff for all their support. Tomson & Parish Painkiller Songs | 1. | PainKiller |

Painkiller music CDs
$8.75 This 1998 reissue contains four bonus tracks not on the original release.
Principally recorded at A&R Studios, RCA Studios, Media Sound and Century Sound, New York, New York in 1969 & 1970. Originally released on MGM (4723). Includes liner notes by Michael (Mickey) Leonard, Harold Rhodes and
Digitally remastered using 22-bit technology by Suha Gur (Polygram Studios).
In the '60s the jazz pianist Bill Evans would occasionally record an orchestral "easy listening" session to pay the bills, with predictably mediocre results. But FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, while certainly easy on the ears, is also one of Evans' most intriguing "lost" records, brought to us courtesy of Verve's winning "By Request" series. The novelty is that Evans plays both Fender Rhodes and acoustic piano simultaneously in real time, trading off themes and improvs with deliberative taste and, of course, rare skill. The sessions were produced by Evans' long-time, protective manager Helen Keane, so there was little danger of "selling out."
Unobtrusively arranged by Michael Leonard, this 1969 release resembles nothing so much as famed bossa nova composer Antonio Carlos Jobim's series of shimmering instrumental albums with arranger Claus Ogerman, even without those gently relentless rhythms driving every tune. Still, the highlight of this album ...
| | Push Stars Opening Time CD (2001)
Painkiller songs
$13.15 After their 1999 major-label debut, when the Push Stars seemed on the brink of success due to the hit single "Drunk Is Better Than Dead," the band took a 180-degree turn and signed to the fledgling indie Co-Op Pop, effectively sacrificing their shot at the big time. Seemingly content with being Boston's favorite bar band, they released their third full-length, Opening Time, in early 2001 and -- not surprisingly -- it didn't sell nearly as well as its predecessor. But in this case, sales have nothing to do with quality, as Opening Time is easily the Push Stars' most consistent and fully realized record. If their prior releases often exhibited a visible struggle between quirky, catchy pop songs (ą la Barenaked Ladies) and introspective balladry (Counting Crows), then Opening Time is where they found their true sound somewhere in between the two extremes. That means that the goofy pop of "Frathouse Joe" and "Millionaire" is more direct than anything they've ever done, and it also means that ballads like "All I Wanted" and "Meltaway" have the hooks that they lacked previously. The album's first single, the dark, moody rocker "Waiting, Watching, Wishing" is an affecting departure from the band's sound, even if it did sink like a stone on commercial radio. And even with all these changes in the Push Stars' sound, it's all a great move forward and not an abandonment, as they can still bang out introspective acoustic numbers as on their earlier releases. Opening Time is probably the album the Push Stars always wanted to make, and when they freed themselves of major labels and concerns about sales, they were able to achieve this goal marvelously. ~ Jason Damas
Chris Trapper - vocals, guitarDan McLoughlin - vocals, bass, pianoRyan MacMillan - vocals, drums"...a lively, expertly crafted composite of rock,...with radio-hit potential too great to measure, The Push Stars' endless melodies are hard to shake." ~ CMJ New Music ReportThere were about seven people at the first-ever Push Stars concert at the Middle East Bakery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The stage was so small that the band had to adjust their "stage moves" in order to let people get by to use the restrooms. They got paid about fifty dollars, a falafel and a few Pabst Blue Ribbons. But they happily played anyway. That was February 1996, and four albums and thousands of tour miles later they're still playing, only now to sold out rooms all over North America. After building a strong following in Boston and releasing the critically acclaimed "Meet Me at the Fair" in 1997, The Push Stars ...

| | Jennifer Jayden Unpredictable CD (2007)
Painkiller CD music
$9.35 It was in the moments when she was alone in the house she grew up in, just oustside of Baltimore in a small suburb, that she would pretend she was under a solo spotlight playing to a hushed crowd that would erupt into thunderous applause as she finished the final notes of her song. Her daydreams are still very much like the ones she painted in her mind while sitting at the piano as a child, only these days they are closing in on real life. It is her passionate and expressive lyrics and a soulful, powerhouse of a voice that instantly draws her listeners in and leaves them wanting more. In between songs and offstage, her humble nature and contagious laugh are the perfect balance.Jayden's musical journey began at the age of four with her first piano lesson. Her years of dance and piano training prompted her to study and receive a degree in music theatre. However, during her college years she began to discover that singing was her greatest passion, listening to a broad spectrum of idols like Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, Sam Cooke, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The Police, Led Zeppelin and countless others, all while studying classical and broadway music. Directly out of school, Jen began doing regional theatre work, but soon found ...
