Walk Away album
$9.58 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the late `60s and early `70s, and apart from a rather faithful version of Madonna's "You'll ...

Walk Away songs
$20.29 Outsider singer-songwriter Simon Joyner has been putting out beautiful, distinctive music since the early 1990s, and this compilation, which collects singles he recorded between 1994 and 1999, is one of the best representations of his art. Quirky, emotive, and capable of striking a perfect balance between thoughtful sensitivity (especially in his moving lyrics) and punky, ragged passion, Joyner is a freak-folkie who both embodies that label and stands well outside of it. BEAUTIFUL LOSERS is full of true troubadour music: honest, unadorned, and totally individual.
The Beautiful Losers are the musical duo made up of singer/songwriter Raj Ramayya and guitarist Brett Boyd. Self-described as “electro-acoustic Indian alternative rock”, The Beautiful Losers’ music focuses on vocal melodies accompanied by electric and acoustic guitars and adds elements of traditional East Indian instrumentation and world music. TBL are influenced by classic artists as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, U2, Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac yet still represent the modern sound of artists like Travis, Coldplay, Nittin Sawhney, and Radiohead. TBL’s live show features Ramayya and Boyd on vocals and guitars accompanied by musicians on bass, drums, violin, and sometimes the use of digital backtracks. Recent activities include playing the Fuji Rock Festival 2005 in Japan, appearing in San Francisco at the Radio Alice Emerging Artist Showcase and the Recording Academy (Grammy) Showcase, and working with Amnesty International in their Songs For Human Rights and Rock For Human Rights events. TBL also appear frequently at Japanese animation conventions in the U.S. where they are gaining popularity in the anime community. Besides their frequent activities in San Francisco and Tokyo, TBL have also toured Seattle and have pending dates in the L.A and Orange county areas. In addition, TBL are making roads into Canada and performed at Canadian Music Week 2005. The Beautiful Losers’ latest CD “Peace, Love, & Xmas” was released in Japan November 23, 2005 on their own Beautiful Records, and has received ...

| | Zox Take Me Home CD (2002)
Walk Away CD music
$12.55 From the beginning, ZOX has managed to build cohesion out of contrast. Look no further than the band’s twin frontmen: one is a tattoo-covered conservatory violinist with a history of trashing dressing rooms at Carnegie Hall, & the other a buttoned-down Type-A who turned down an offer from Stanford Law School to keep up the band. As one, they’ve thrived in the chaotic wilderness of the internet underground, developing the rare skill of writing meaningful, memorable pop songs characterized by a *truly* unique sound. Featured are an electric violin run into a guitar amp (the Village Voice once described ZOX’s violinist as “Eddie Van Halen meets Papa John Creach”), earnest, vivid lyrics, & a rhythm section that seems to swing effortlessly between musical styles.Their first two albums, released independently, sold over to 40K copies—“The Wait”, mixed by legendary producer Mitch Easter of R.E.M. fame, ranked #7 Billboard Top Internet Album when it was released in ’05—garnered a buzz that opened up many doors: signage to LA’s Side1DummyRecords (Gogol Bordello/Mighty Bosstones/Flogging Molly) & booking agents CAA, along with numerous TAXI placements, including 12+ tracks sprinkled throughout MTV shows The Real World, Road Rules, & Maui Fever. Capitalizing on this momentum, ZOX, continuing their grassroots tradition, immediately hit the road showcasing at SXSW, performing ...
| | Sarah Fimm Nexus CD (2004)
Walk Away music CDs
$10.15 Sarah Fimm is an independent Pianist, singer and composer from Woodstock, NY. Nexus is her third Album.Billboard.com excerpt written by: Christa L. TitusSarah Fimm's second album, "A Perfect Dream," was a diamond buried deep in the indie underground: a brilliant and durable gem worth mining that no doubt will increase in value. Likewise, Fimm's new "Nexus" is another rare jewel. Whereas the songs from "Dream" were very separate entities, the 15 cuts winding through "Nexus" transition into each other almost seamlessly, creating a chilled-out dimension, one that is vast and colored with celestial imagery. ....Fimm can also speak more profoundly with lulls of delicate sound and breaths of silence than many can with words. "Walk Away" shifts the ambience into one of deep melancholy that is carried through "December" and blooms in a mournful cello on "Orchids." The windy, eerie landscape of a distant planet surrounds "Great Wide Open" before reaching the finale "Storytime," a brief piano interlude that could be felt as either joy or grief. Fimm's ...

Walk Away CD music
$13.69 Some might call it traditional. Others would say it's roots country, or even Americana. Call it whatever you like, but "Rye Whiskey Why" is a collection of songs about life. Be it real love or lost love, hard times and second chances, cheating and lying, or drinking and dying.
