i come from the backwoods where boogie is hard and fast and slightly southern fried. my dysfunctional roots and anxiety riddled traumas have led me write songs with a slight edge sometimes with a tinge of humor. but the basic building blocks are the same. here`s the recipe add some zz top sprinkle with some black oak and cover with bto let stand till new wave is gone and bring to boil with motley crue then wait 15 or so years and that my friend is how you get jimmy and the hillisbillys. well excuse me!!!!!!!

$9.99 Producers: Russel Simmons, Larry Smith, Rick Rubin, Pete Rock, Run-D MC. Compilation producer: Rob Santos, Jeremy Holiday. Recorded between 1983 & 1993. Personnel: Steven Tyler (vocals); Eddie Martinez, Joe Perry (guitar). Audio Mixers: DJ Red Alert; Davy D.; DJ Starchild; Latin Rascals; Rick Rubin; Run-D.M.C. Photographer: George DuBose. Supplanting the 1991 collection Together Forever, BMG Heritage's 2002 Greatest Hits also runs 18 tracks and shares ten of the same songs -- namely, all the big hits and usual suspects. Of the eight tracks left behind, there are some big ones -- no "Peter Piper" or "My Adidas" -- and the sequencing, while flowing much better than its predecessor, is still non-chronological, which robs the narrative of some power even if the music retains all of it. So, that means we're still waiting for the perfect Run-D.M.C. collection, but until that arrives, this is still an excellent ...

| | Televangelist & The Architect Diaries Of The Intelligentsia CD (2006)
Ugliness
$7.49 After hanging up with somewhat-recent California transplant Jerry Chen (and allowing him to return to messing with neurons and researching brain plasticity), I realized that in our chat about his amorphous trio, The Televangelist and The Architect, I had totally spaced on asking what the deal was with that weird band name. Yes, I know how much that question sucks, but then I went and asked it anyway. Here's what he said:"I've tried to explain the band name a few times, and each time, it just kind of comes out wrong, so I've just decided to answer it with one of those strange, cryptic riddles: We are the church that the architect built where now the televangelist preaches. Sorry to be that guy. =)"He's not "that guy." If anything, his explanation is an uncharacteristic bit of abstraction for a lyricist who—at least on his newest release, The Diaries of the Intelligentsia - is the very vision of directness. Each track packs a neatly portioned dose of highly concentrated austerity: In "Nationalism" he flatly asks: "This anthem that plays / Does it fill you with pride? / Or make you foreign inside?" In "The Young Professional," ...
| | Death In Summer Towards Tomorrow CD (2007)
Ugliness
$10.15 A Death in Summer has been described as an "intelligent, emotional rock band that is excitingly human". A highly anticipated debut offering. Be there from the beginning."Towards Tomorrow is an emotive, expressional journey. The songs are filled with wit and humor, tasteful autobiographical lyrics and notably memorable musical style rhythyms, wound together with bright acoustic guitar and warm electric tones. Don't miss this album!"-- Eric L. Spindler/RockUway//AltyouLouisville!.Write, contribute to an indie magazine in the Louisville/Indiana area? Contact us to feature A Death in Summer. We value their support!Founded in 2005 by Kimberly Streible, A Death in Summer, was in the beginning an expression of one individual. An accomplished and publish author/writer, Kimberly began the band as another means of exploring writing. A Death in Summer soon began to take root and in 2006 added another member, Eric McVay on the bass guitar. The pair began writing songs and creating demos in late 2006. Known for their eclectic songs and autobiographical and memorable lyrics, the band soon took off and formed an internet audience that sparked further development for the band. In 2007 having written 16 songs, Kimberly and Eric knew they would have to open the fold and welcome more musicians to help finalize their vision. Todd Larsen, a guitarist of amazing abilities joined the fold and added another element to the band. The debut album, Towards Tomorrow is the first offering. The band has already ready written 18 new songs for their second CD "Declared a Disaster" and will be recording those songs toward the end of 2007.A Death in Summer is looking forward to playing some live dates in November on the East Coast.Visit us at: www.myspace.com/adeathinsummerandwww.virb.com/adeathinsummerSome reviews for the band A Death in Summer --Hey summer - quality tune you've got here...guitars sounding very pleasant, supporting your words really well ...liking the vibe of this tune alot...it's like looking back, but not to pounder about the past, but more what changes the future will bring...cool lyrics...quality vocal delivery...your ...
