“For those immersed in the vastness of darkness, we are a glimmer of light- this is Positive Energy…”Prophecy, aka Derrick Dolphin, has many titles- youth development specialist, advocate, executive producer, poet, and Emcee; no matter what role he is in, his priority is to promote positive youth development. Through his work, and now his music, Prophecy’s debut album Positive Energy, with his lyrical partner in rhyme –DUB Colossus (Errill Nelson), speaks creativity, soul and positivity to young people on a global platform. The duo is a long established New York City performance group, previously signed to an RCA Records subsidiary –Grovetown Records, the pair garnered rave reviews throughout the city for the last decade as front men for the eclectic live hip-hop collective “Primordial Source.” In 2000, Prophecy relocated to the Nation’s Capitol where he began working with a youth advocacy firm. There he assisted in the establishment of Alive and Free Records (AFR), a small independent label focused on the creation of urban music that promotes life, freedom and future economic opportunity. AFR also aimed to combat music that promoted violence, the misogyny of women and drug dealing. Most recently Prophecy formed Dolphinity, LLC which is a company focused on exploring hip-hop culture’s impact on young people’s development. In a recent interview with a local news channel Prophecy expressed, “…the power of Hip-Hop is immense; its influence on millions of young people is direct and evident!” Prophecy fuses his expertise in education, life skills instruction, and employment training with beats and music to reach young people who are impacted by violence, conflict, and greed. DUB Colossus uses his real life experiences and unwavering dynamism to covey rhymes that are fiery and thought provoking. Both Prophecy and DUB Colossus bring messages of optimism, peace, and respect to the masses in a time where Hip-Hop has lost it’s direction and substance. Let the music speak for itself; with fresh cuts like “Who da Heck R U?,” “Makin It,” and “Pear Tree,” Prophecy and DUB Colossus bring together hip-hop, jazz, funk, reggae, and soul to create a compelling and smooth soundtrack for a range of listeners young and mature. | | Royce Da 59 Street Hop CD (2009)
Positive Energy
$11.49 In pre-release interviews, Royce da 5'9" laid out a perfect description of his style: a Detroit kid brought up on Nas whose head was sent spinning once Eminem came around. Three years in the making--twelve months in prison for a DUI being part of the problem--STREET HOP often has a solid foundation that's absolutely classic in feel but also features those quirky, sick-o rhymes that are distinctly post-Shady. "I mix a between Chris Brown and Chris Jericho/Where's your daughter?" is an unsettling ...

| | Ray Charles Genius Loves Company CD (2004) Digipak; Enhanced CD
Positive Energy
$10.45 Though Ray Charles, one of the greatest singers of the 20th century, was never in need of vocal assistance, he was no stranger to duets either (one of his finest records is a duet album with Betty Carter). For as much of a musical giant as he was, Brother Ray knew how to share the spotlight, as evidenced by GENIUS LOVES COMPANY, his final project before his 2004 passing. In keeping with the eclectic nature of Charles's artistry, he partners with a wide assortment of performers here.
Charles is joined by Elton John on a soulful exploration of the latter's "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word," and sidles up next to Willie Nelson for a haunting version of the Frank Sinatra hit "It Was a Very Good Year," made all the more poignant in retrospect by its posthumous nature. Of course, it's not all bittersweet melancholy; ...
| | Stevie Wonder Innervisions CD (1973) Remastered
Positive Energy
$10.39 After breaking away from the Motown singles mode, Wonder began creating albums that were visionary in concept, sound, and construction. The greatest of these is 1973's INNERVISIONS (1976's SONG IN THE KEY OF LIFE was also an indisputable masterpiece, yet it lacks the economy and focus of INNERVISIONS). ...

Formed in 1991, this Cleveland-based crew first caught the ear of N.W.A. member Eazy-E and subsequently, the nation.Their trademark double and triple-time sung/rapped harmonies brought something new to the table at a time when most acts were busy trying to imitate The Chronic. The unique sound prompted multi-platinum record sales, won them a Grammy, and brought the spotlight to the long-neglected Midwestern hip-hop community. As a solo performer, Bizzy Bone is well known for his high-speed rhyme style and unique singing abilities. Continually writing and recording around the clock, he released his first solo album ...
