Country Music has changed over the last twenty years. Gone are the days when, from the first few bars of a song, you knew not only the song, but the artist as well. They remain true to themselves, their music, and the traditions the veterans of country music began. The Vigilantes' music, while unique, is reminiscent of the country-n-western music of Carl Smith, Hank Williams Sr., Faron Young, Lefty Frizzell, Ray Price, etc., when individual artists were very distinctive and entertainment was clean, wholesome, and family oriented. The only criteria The Vigilantes used in selecting material for their shows was that it had to be a "good" song, and one they could make very dance-able. Their formula proved true. And with the collective memories of its members, The Vigilantes' wide musical repertoire was a delight to all! This opened the door to an evening filled with hits like "White Cliffs of Dover" backed with "El Rancho Grande'" or Hank Williams' "Jambalaya." One special and memorable Christmas found the entire audience gathered holding hands around The Vigilantes and joining in singing Christmas Carols. A sight (and sound) to behold! It truly showed the spirit of Christmas.
