2005 and the early portion of 2006 was spent in a couple of studios from Los Angeles to Desert Hot Springs, CA recording our debut album. Because of the unorthodox method of putting the album together, after some coincidences and necessities and a few shows, PLANEVIEW has developed into its current dynamic. Kevin plays guitars and sings, Josh plays the drums and sings, Bill plays guitars and sings and Evan rocks the bass. PLANEVIEW plays all-original accessible rock and roll music in the vein of current trendsetters like the Strokes and rock mainstays like the Smashing Pumpkins and Tom Petty. The shows are high-energy and guaranteed to get the crowd moving. "Don't Talk to Strangers" was released to the public on May 13th, 2006 and the band is currently touring around southern California and beyond, coming to a town near you. Don't Talk To Strangers album
$11.19 Often, supergroups wind up dominated by one particular personality - think Eric Clapton in Derek & the Dominos, Jack White in the Raconteurs -- which makes the egalitarianism of Them Crooked Vultures all the more remarkable. Of course, when it comes down to it, it's a group of three natural-born collaborators: John Paul Jones, the old studio pro who gravitated toward provocative partners after Led Zeppelin's demise, teaming up with R.E.M. as easily as he did with avant-queen Diamanda Galas and nu-folkster Sara Watkins; Dave Grohl, who hopped into an empty drummer's chair whenever the opportunity presented itself; and Josh Homme, who set up a mini-empire based entirely on jam sessions. If Them Crooked Vultures brings to mind Homme's projects more than Grohl's or Jones', it's largely due to his role as lead vocalist and how guitar can push ...
| | Rosanne Cash List CD (2009)
Don't Talk To Strangers CD music
$14.45 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to ...

| | Ben Baldwin For The Dreams CD (2006)
Don't Talk To Strangers songs
$13.89 A native of Massachusetts, Ben Baldwin settled into the Roanoke area in 1997. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School, where he staged his first live performance for the senior class in the school theatre.Ben’s music has been a work of passion from the very beginning. He first began teaching himself to play acoustic guitar at age eleven. His determination to play a favorite song started him on a musical journey that continues even today. With no previous background in music, Ben began teaching himself to play and, in the process, started to find his own sound along the way.Drawing on a wide array of influences such as Dave Matthews, Goo Goo Dolls, Jack Johnson, David Gray, U2, John Mayer, Jimmy Eat World, Nickel Creek and Smashing Pumpkins, Ben began to find the sound that he would come to be known for. As he continued to hone his musical skills playing songs that he knew, Ben began to play music of his own as well. As he continued to grow his repertoire, he started looping and layering his instruments, allowing him to create a sound resembling that of multiple musicians performing together at once. Ben continues to perform in a “one-man” style ...

$13.15 the SHEERSRemember a time when you heard songs on the radio and those songs crept their way into your mind? Remember how the melody stuck with you for the rest of the day? Remember when you bought the record, you listened to the whole thing and loved it as much as “the single”?the SHEERS are a product of that time.In the Spring of 2003, singer/songwriter Danny DeLaMatyr had made the move from big city to bigger city, relocating from Dallas to Los Angeles upon taking a gig as the guitar player in Old 97’s front man Rhett Miller’s touring band. After the short but critically acclaimed tour, DeLaMatyr settled into his adopted city.Around the same time, drummer/songwriter/producer Luke Adams was finishing up a two-year stint as the touring drummer for Pete Yorn’s band and was aching for a creative outlet and a well-deserved rest at home.A mutual Dallas friend, drummer-turned-bass player Bill Shupp, introduced Adams to DeLaMatyr. Adams, being a fan of DeLaMatyr’s first band “The Days”, (who Shupp had turned Adams on to years before) quickly offered to produce/record his newer material. ...

Don't Talk To Strangers music CDs
$9.85 With this recording I leaned in a Organic/Sci Fi direction. My goal was to create a cross between the futuristic and the ancient. Several of the instuments I play are from the distant past and then I round out things with modern state of the art analog and digital gear. I use layers to sort of push and pull at your subconscious allowing the listener to relax and at the same time be exposed to images and feelings ...
