| | Herratik Wrath Divine CD Herratik Discography of CDs
Following the worldwide success of two album releases under the name Abortus, the band changed their moniker to Herratik, but maintained their strong grip on their powerful blend of Death and Thrash metal, inserting a modern feel for harmonies and groove with crunching riffs. Hailing from Australia, the band have toured Europe as well as their native homeland and have built a massive reputation as one of the best that the Aussie's have to offer. Copro. 2006.

| | Bon Jovi Lost Highway CD (2007)
Wrath Divine music CDs
$10.45 Although the initial reports that LOST HIGHWAY was to be Bon Jovi's "country album" turned out to be somewhat overstated, it does sit comfortably at the meeting ground between commercial rock and commercial country that Garth Brooks started exploring in the early 1990s, and that folks like Big and Rich or Toby Keith mine successfully today.
In fact, Big and Rich continued their bid to appear on every album recorded in Nashville in 2007 by helping out on "We Got It Going On," while the ballad "Stranger" features guest vocals by Leann Rimes. Aside from those nods to the contemporary ...
| | Axe Offering CD (1981)
Wrath Divine songs
$10.49 Kicking off with their raison d'etre "Rock 'n' Roll Party in the Street," Offering proved to be the moment of glory for Florida's Axe. That single remains a great slice of heartland party rock, and the rest of the record ably falls in line. While the quaint "Video Inspiration" berates artificial imagery, "Jennifer" serenades a screen star; but Axe doesn't let such cerebral quandaries get in the way of booty-shaking boogie like the smoking run-through of Montrose's "I Got the Fire" (later covered by Iron Maiden and Rest in Pieces) and the summer-in-the-city riot selection "Burn the City Down." "Holdin' On" falls in the ol' reliable "love 'em and leave 'em" category while "Now or Never" is the kind of blatant Top 40 bid heavy bands used to sneak onto records that resulted in the twilight era of AOR, which backfired into groups attempting to be as intense as their album artwork and spurning the radio. Axe offers an innocent, ...

| | Shade Empire Sinthetic CD (2004)
Wrath Divine album
$11.59 For the most part, the death metal/black metal field has favored bombast for the sake of bombast and brute force for the sake of brute force. But that isn't true of the closely related styles known as melodic death metal and symphonic black metal, both of which have sought to combine death metal/black metal with the intricacy and musicality of old-school power metal and even progressive rock in some cases. There is plenty of power metal and prog rock influence on Sinthetic, the debut album by Finland's Shade Empire. But these guys take it a step further, providing music that is elaborate even by symphonic black metal standards. The fact that they are melodic and use keyboards extensively isn't what makes Sinthetic unusual; it's the way they use them. On this 2003 recording, the keyboards are right up front and very dominant while the guitar is -- believe it or not -- relegated to the background. What Shade Empire end up with could almost be described as a union of black metal, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, and power metal with hints of European electronica; the Finns are as intriguing as they are ambitious. Of course, black metal purists will likely accuse Shade Empire of watering down black metal just as some folk purists hated Bob Dylan for going electric and some bebop purists called Charlie Parker a sellout ...

| | Christian Vogel Double Deux/Delicado CDs (2007) (Import)
Wrath Divine music CDs
$18.79 This double-CD set is a bit different than Cristian Vogel's usual experimental techno, as it leans significantly more toward the experimental side than the techno side. Vogel still had the dancefloor in mind, albeit not the kind found in nightclubs. In fact, this set culls music scores created for two of Swiss choreographer Gilles Jobin's dance pieces. The hourlong "Double Deux" (disc one) is a convincing piece of very experimental techno on its own right -- imagining choreographed movements to it simply gives it extra spice. The eight-part suite does not entirely eschew the beat, and fans of Super_Collider will still hear familiar sounds, textures, and patterns. However, Vogel clearly put an emphasis on deconstructing rhythm and reinventing his own approach. The result is a mutant form of electronic music, abstract yet noisy, miles away from the minimalism of most sound artists, yet not as overwhelming as a noisician's creation. Even more interesting is the single-part, 30-minute piece ...
