When Anthrax released AMONG THE LIVING in 1987, the band was a part of a then-burgeoning heavy metal sub-genre called speed or thrash metal. This was an inversion of glam metal. The band members wore worn-out jeans and T-shirts, their long hair was hairspray-free, and not a smudge of make-up was applied to their unsightly mugs. Their music was dense, borrowing speed from punk and hardcore and mammoth guitar riffing from metal, and featured thought-provoking lyrics. 2006 digitally remastered two CD set, subtitled The Live Anthology, features not only the original Slade Alive! album but also Slade Alive! Volume Two, Slade On Stage and Alive At Reading for a total of 33 rockin' and stompin' Slade performances! The first live album 'Slade Alive!' was recorded at the Command Theatre Studio in London, for just œ600, and released without overdubs of any sort in March 1972. 'Vol. Two' was culled from American concert performances in the autumn of 1976 as well as British dates the following spring.
