Rivolta Silenziosa album
$12.85 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses to sing on CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART, a cheerfully old-fashioned holiday album from its Norman Rockwell-esque cover to its joyous backing vocals. Apart from the breakneck "Must Be Santa," which barrelhouses like a barroom, Dylan doesn't really reinterpret these songs as much as simply play them with his crackerjack road band, dropping in a little flair -- restoring "we'll have to muddle through somehow" to "Have Yourself ...

Rivolta Silenziosa CD music
$11.35 NIGHT CASTLE appears just in time for the big 2009 holiday season but don't be fooled: this isn't a Christmas album, even if it's sonically indistinguishable from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's other seasonal releases, and the fact ...

Rivolta Silenziosa album
$12.99 Still enamored of the concept of the concept album more than four years after AMERICAN IDIOT, Green Day unveiled its rock-opera sequel, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN, in 2009. Like its predecessor, BREAKDOWN wholeheartedly embraces the iconic punk-pop act's shift to a stadium-filling sound, while also remaining loyal to the ...

| | Steve Hackett Live Archive: 70, 80, 90S CDs (2001) Box Set
Rivolta Silenziosa music CDs
$27.89 Many long-lived rock artists (Emerson, Lake & Palmer and King Crimson, to name two) are starting to see the value in releasing live archival material. It's a way to thwart the bootleggers, plus it pleases longtime fans. Hackett joins in with this box set release of three shows, one from the 1970s (Hammersmith Odeon, London, June 30,1979), one from the 1980s (Castel Sant'Angelo, Rome, Sept. 13,1981), and one from the 1990s (The Grand Theatre, London, June 8,1993). It's a viable collection, coming complete with a photo-laden booklet which includes an intro to each show written by Hackett (or, Stefanovitch Von Hackenschimdt, as he signs one), a complete tour itinerary covering his solo career to 2000, and track-by-track comments on each song ...

| | Diecast International Revolution CD (2006) (Import)
Rivolta Silenziosa album
$12.35 Except for a temporary hiatus brought on by some major lineup changes, Diecast have been loyal, card-carrying, on time, dues-paying members of the "United New England Hardcore Metal Bands" union -- unlikely to be confused with the vast, recently franchised and still unproven masses crowding the factory floor, yet also still struggling to break out of the middle echelons to join union leaders like Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, and Shadows Fall. Which is a goofy way of saying that, for the most part, 2006's Internal Revolution is a two-sided affair. On the one hand, it offers the same, expertly performed but done-to-death genre trademarks heard on the previous year's Tearing Down Your Blue Skies, and about a thousand contemporary hardcore metal albums. Just listen to production line items like the title cut "Never Forget," "S.O.S.," or "Definition of a Hero," which essentially offer dull attempts to contrast dark and light: jagged-edged riffs versus sparkling six-string harmonies, acid-chortling croaked vocals versus soaring melodic choruses, furious bursts of thrashing intensity versus dead-stop-start bouts of silence, Godzilla versus Mothra -- you get the drift. On the other hand, there are promising signs of Diecast's concerted bid ...
| | Jenny Whiteley Dear CD (2006)
Rivolta Silenziosa CD music
$12.39 Dear is the eagerly awaited follow-up to Jenny Whiteley’s Juno Award winning and internationally acclaimed 2004 album ‘Hopetown’. Just like Hopetown picked up where Jenny’s Juno Award winning, self titled debut left off, Dear takes us further down the road of one of Canada’s best songwriters. Once again produced by Steve Dawson, Dear is blessed with many of the same musicians that appeared on Hopetown, including Amy Milan (Stars, Broken Social Scene), Dan Whiteley, Joey Wright (Sarah Harmer), Chris Whiteley, and many others from the rich Canadian community of roots music. Blending folk/roots style and instrumentation with contemporary production elements and sounds, a timeless and unique sounding album has emerged. Opening with the heart breaking Indoor Lightning and ending with the equally heartbreaking When It Rains I Pour, Dear is 12 songs strong. From toe tappers like Banjo Girl and Yellow Couch to a duet with Jim Byrnes (The Other Side Of Life) and the slow anthem of Write Me Away. There is a wisdom and depth to these songs that belie the ...
