Hard To Breathe album
$12.85 After the initial shock fades, the existence of CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART seems perhaps inevitable. After all, the thing Bob Dylan loves most of all are songs that are handed down from generation to generation, songs that are part of the American fabric, songs so common they never seem to have been written. These are the songs Dylan chooses to sing on CHRISTMAS IN THE HEART, a cheerfully ...

Hard To Breathe CD music
$12.69 "this will happen" again is the debut EP of wife-husband team Jen Fox (vocals, bass) and Jim Srnec (guitar)âa showcase for their unique brand of literate, indie rock. The six-song album is a collage of the personal and the political, delivered with self-conscious humor and a stunning pop sensibility. Fox and Srnec co-wrote all six songs, and their intelligence and dedication to good, solid rock come through on every track. The record launches with âParis to Istanbul,â a post-punk response to a new and uneasy American identity. Foxâs voice reaches out over Srnecâs driving guitar lines, hitting high notes hard and growling through the low end. âHelen of Troyâ rebuilds an epic on a mix of Latin rhythm and anthemic power pop. The closing track, âSelfish,â shifts from mournful to defiant with skillful misdirection and ends the album with Julepâs most characteristic trick, serving up hard ideas with a sweet dose of optimism.Listening to "this will happen again" is like grooving around Seattleâs back roads with Jenny Lewis riding shotgun and the Throwing Muses in the back seat, all singing along to Exile in Guyville. Youâll find yourself taking the long way home and waiting in the driveway for the last note to fade away.Jen Fox and Jim Srnec formed Julep in 2004 after over ten years of collaboration in the Seattle music scene. In Julepâs current iteration, Fox fronts the group by gracefully balancing lead vocals and bass. Jen Trujillo delivers soulful harmonies and solid percussion, with Srnec and Justin Busch on guitar swinging the mood from delicate acoustic to crunching rock.Jen Fox has been performing since she learned how to talk. With the debut of her first original song for her third grade music class, she has not stopped writing, singing, and playing guitar. Jen became a bass player to round out the family ...

Hard To Breathe songs
$12.59 The Touchers rock. Any one of their lesser songs would make another band's career. Heavy discord-record influenced cow-punk; The pixies meet Steve Earle outside a Nirvana show.Their songs are twangy, the lyrics are penetrating, and the sound is punked up garage rock occasionally veering into the country side of things. They are based out of Bozeman Montana and their mailbombs will soon find a space in your car, on your shelves, and in your minds.Created 1999 Bozeman, melded through a few stints in Portland, OR, The Touchers realized Montana is the only place they are able to be at the same time as one another. "There are too many bands in Oregon, and nobody gives a shit", Ben Spangler, songwriter, says about his decision to stay and live in the middle of nowhere. "I can live for cheap here and I don't get into too much trouble. It can be kind of boring, but it's easy for us to get gigs in town and we can always tour from here."The band counts The Pixies and The Melvins among their main influences. Spangler writes catchy pop hooks and then scars them up with alot of screaming and distortion. Chris 'Donnie Evil' Donahue provides harmony backups and a blistering lead guitar to the band. His twangy guitar sound hints at elements of surf and 50's garage rock. Keith Martinez and Brent 'Blue' Maciulski round out the band on drums and bass, respectively."Pretty Baby", the bands 4th album, is their first officially pressed release. Turning away from the trademark "stamped" silver cds, The Touchers are excited to offer this polished shrink-wrapped gem. Mixed and mastered by Chuck Goodwin of Cynic Sound, this release fluently encaptures the band's dynamic emotions while maintaining a full bodied backbeat. The Touchers released "The Shotgun" in the fall of '03 on their own Beard of Blood label. The band took one day to record the sixteen songs in the sequence they appear on the record. Copies have made their way across the lower forty-eight and response has inspired their tour in October.Earlier releases ...
| | Matt Ellis Peel CD (2007)
Hard To Breathe album
$16.45 Matt Ellis is an Australian singer/songwriter with an acoustic folk/rock sound. Born in Sydney and raised in Hong Kong, he began singing in bands in high school influenced by punk and rock ânâ roll. Matt Ellis has now been a thriving solo artist for six years and has just released his third album, "Tell The People", in Los Angeles, California."Tell The People's" eleven tracks were recorded and mixed in eleven days with Ellis co-producing alongside drummer, Branden Harper. The pair chose to cut the majority of the album live in the studio, bringing great energy to every track. The new set of songs were written on the road through the second half of 2005 and during a two month stint in Mexico's Yucatan, where Ellis spent November and December continuing to write and demo songs. The results attracted a brilliant line-up to the album sessions which included Nels Cline (Wilco) and Tim Young (David Sylvian, The Youngs) on guitars, Greg Leisz (KD Lang, Beck, Joni Mitchell) on lap steel, pedal steel and mandolin, Tim Luntzel (Bright Eyes, Norah Jones, Emmylou Harris) on bass and Dave Palmer (Fiona Apple, AIR) on piano and rhodes. "Tell The People" was recorded and mixed by Ronan Chris Murphy at Veneto West Studios and launched at Hotel Cafe, September 8th, 2006. Matt is currently performing live in and around Los Angeles promoting "Tell The People". An Australian release is scheduled for November 2006.2005 was an incredibly successful year for this restless talent. His website, mattellis.org, was re-launched hosting âOn Your Wayâ, the first music video from Matt's self-titled album. The release of the video was supported by a hectic touring schedule in Australia, Canada and the USA, including a spot on the Cockatoo Island Festival on Sydney Harbour at Easter and showcases at Canadaâs NxNE Festival and Harrisburgâs MMC9 in June. Matt stayed on the road through July and August playing a twenty date acoustic tour through ...
