COMAll songs Written, Recorded and Mixed by Brian Goss on a Roland VS1880Mastered by Toby Mountain Northeastern DigitalPhotography: Dennis Rainville, Susan Goss, Andy SauveFirst of all THANK YOU for buying this CD. I would also like to thank all of you who bought my first CD. The proceeds from my first CD, FLOWERS DISAPPEAR, paid for my new recording studio which was a very nice upgrade. I'm still doing all the recording and mixing at home along with the help of some fine musicians. The method is the same as my last CD; I record all my tracks: Guitar, Vocals, Drums, Keyboards, etc. Then I have the Bass and Lead guitar lay down their tracks. The Lead Guitarist, Bob Desmond, and the two bass players, Marc Rines and Seth Connelly, record their tracks without ever meeting each other. The end result is songs that sound like a whole band. It helps having great studio musicians. Thanks guys, you're all awesome! A little bit about the Songs:Prelude: This is my attempt at keyboards. I was going for the Herb Albert / old Clint Eastwood spaghetti western sound. What Do You Want From Life?: A lot of my friends are following their dreams in this song and I hope you are too? Susan doesn't understand why all songs have instrumental breaks, so this song doesn't. Bob just wails his lead guitar all the way thru. West Carry: I'm officially a Maine Resident (Not a Mainer, don't confuse the two) and absolutely love our new home, as you can tell by the song. Wrapped Too Tight: I was going for an Island sound and how can ya do that without Tequila? Me and You: I wrote this while taking a song and poetry class at Lowell University. I could tell the teacher was heartbroken over someone by all the songs he played for us. I wrote this and got an A. Kind of cool jazz. I Hate Lawyers: This is the kind of song you write when you're really pissed off! I guess that's why they call it the blues. Can I tell you how I really feel?I'm Feeling Fine: On this song I was going for an early Beatles type sound with lots of harmonies. JVZ Song: I'm not a big country fan, but I told my good friend I would write one country song just for him. Time to herd the cattle counter clock wise!Beautiful Day: I wrote this on one of those beautiful spring days before the bugs were out. This song has NA NA's in it - Susan didn't want LA LA's. Rebound: Have you ever met someone and said 'How's it going?' and they start to tell you their life story and how they're so stressed and depressed and BLAH BLAH BLAH. Well this song is ...
| | Xpensive Dogs Dog Eat Dog CD (2004)
Click Track CD music
$20.25 BigO- SingaporeXPENSIVE DOGSDog Eat Dog [Rockit Records]Ten years ago, Gary Tanin of Xpensive Dogs was among one of those who relied purely on the internet to create music. Never meeting Japanese musician Toshiyuki Hiraoka, the two traded music files on the net to create the Dogs' debut release. The years have certainly honed Tanin's craft - the production is exquisite and the performance solid. The album opens promisingly. The instrumental title track, with its glimmering guitar, would do any surf movie proud. Hell, with its "this is the place" and "psycho killer" phrasing, and Flowers Grow, with its Latin rhythm, both recall the Talking Heads. However, it is tracks like Sacrifice, Pinochio and The World Has Gone Insane - with their bouncy beat, crafty wordplay and, not to mention, the album's all-star cast - that put the Dogs down the evolutionary path that included bands such as Was (Not Was). Now that Tanin has exorcised some of those ghosts that might have dogged him, perhaps he would like to consider a full-fledged ...

| | Wolfgang Bandett Schalk The Second Third Man - Feat Michael Brecker CD (2007) (Import)
Click Track album
$13.99 "The Second Third Man" is Wolfgang Schalk's second release as a bandleader. The sound of the Austrian guitarist, resident in New York since 1997, conveys a tender warmth but also plows new territory with a colourful wide range of sound. Schalk is adept at being comfortable with heavy grooves and melodic lyrics as well. He proves himself as a composer and widens the choice of modern standards. Brecker delivered some of his finest blowing cutting loose on tracks like the album's title cut.Using his keen talent for musical invention, Wolfgang Schalk has garnered international acclaim as a gifted guitarist and composer. Jazz writes: "The Second Third Man' is indicative of the whole album. It is improvised music of originality and high performance. Schalk and Brecker are perfect foils as they tackle a complicated and relentless head arrangement... The guitarist's solos are nothing less than fantastic, and what more can be said about Brecker? ...This is a high-caliber chops fest in the best tradition of the jazz-rock idiom." (Issued April 2008)The main characteristics of Schalk's music is his drive to formal control on one ...

$13.99 Naomi Crain, an emerging indie folk-rock singer/songwriter from Sydney has released her debut album 'Leaving Ur'. Naomi studied song writing, music production, performance, play writing and acting at university. After graduating, she roamed the world with a back pack, returning to Australia only to earn more money to travel again. having finally settled back into a life at home in Sydney Naomi began work on her debut album, Leaving Ur. The album had an intolerably long gestation period, but this allowed for her growth as a recording artist, arranger and producer. Artists featured on Leaving Ur include Richard Anderson, Steve Crain, Pete Kohlhoff, Hilary Williams, Paul Gray, Martyn Hentschel, Nick Nittes, Mandy Fischer, Margo Mowczko, Matt Roberts, Luke Fletcher and Charlotte Jane.Influenced over many years by the works of Ani Difranco, Indigo Girls, Patti Griffin, Tori Amos, Leonard Cohen, U2 and many more, Naomi's musical style is ecclectic, covering folk, pop, rock, jazz and gospel. 'This album is 11 different countries of me, in which I've stopped and spent time, taking care to listen to the experiences that live in that place, working out what to bring out as the lasting memory, the souvenirs of my time spent there, the scars, the trinkets, the visions of the landscapes. ' Naomi CrainReviews of Naomi's live performances:'Naomi's lyrics follow the roads taken in her journey; raw, witty, intelligent and real' 'Naomi's set was both original as well as paying homage to the indigo Girls, Bono and Ani Difranco, with God and the lesbian community thrown in for good measure!'"A night of thoughtful journeying through love, desire and loss with Naomi and her music to guide and delight us."'An inspiring, heartfelt, courageous, and touching performance, with a voice, music, and lyrics that speak of life's journeys in both an intensely personal and universally ...
