Rob Anthony Neo-Jasouloetry CD

Rob Anthony originally hails from Houston Texas. He found his nitch on stage performing as an actor and performer at the early age of 11 when his mother, playright, author and poet, Etha Gray threw him in one of her many stage productions. He joined his first musical band at the age of 13, formed his first band at 18 and started writing songs and winning talent shows with his original compositions over the next 20 something years. He formed his own music production company, oRGy Music Productions here in Sacramento in the early ‘90’s and has since changed the name to Color Blind and Tone Deaf Enterprise. The name change came when he realized that his company was much more than just a music company. It now incorporated published songs, poetry and now since signing with the Tamara Walters Agency, numerous films. Rob has worked with re-knowned Directors such as Joe Carnahan and J. Alexander Jimenez Being on set with actors like Don Cheadle, Dennis Haysberg, Clifton Powell, Clive Owens and Ray Liotta has given Rob the experience needed to land a major role in recently released Lions Gate Film ‘Fugitive Hunter’, You can also see Rob in locally produced films such as, 40 Year Scotch, Mistaken, Nwar, The Good Death and others all of which have played at the Crest Theater.In the Theatrical realm Rob recently received rave reviews as the lead (John) in Athol Fugards "The Island" Directed by Angela D. Alforque and also as ‘Troy Maxson’ in the play “FENCES” by August Wilson put on by Celebration Arts Theater and directed by Danielle Thrower. Other roles for Rob include ‘Clifford William White’ in Williams Parkers “The Difference Between Men and Women” and ;J.D.' in 'Me And My Boy" and a host of other productions.As far as his poetry, this two time published and award- winning poet has been wooing audiences here and abroad since the early eighties. Recently, Rob has joined well know local poet Terry Moore and Born 2B Poets and has opened for RNB Neo-Soul artist 'Bilal', Although Rob loves Spoken Word he prefers the term Romantic Poetry for his writings, he says because they are from the heart and soul and are “deeper than Barry White baritones and cuddles more tenderly than Teena Marie love songs.” (excerpt from an original work titled “It”.)The CD Neo-Jasouloetry is Rob's latest project that was inspired by good friends prodding him to do something new and different with the talents and original creative poetic performances that he has been wooing Sacramento audiences with since he came onto the scene in 2004. Fellow poets Michael Guinn and Terry Moore inspired Rob by being prime examples of pursiung your dreams. After soliciting the help of friend/Producer/Engineer Jerry Blake-Neo-Jasouloetry was born.
