On its third major-label album, the Los Angeles punk-pop group blends the title track's disaffected take on California living with the energetic, chart-ready rock & roll of the post-teen wish list "Los Angeles." "Do It Alone" is both a desperate plea for sex and a somewhat more poignant admission of loneliness that's a little more subtle than it first appears, while the anthemic chorus and radio-friendly hook of "Dead Living" shows the band's pop skills are still very much intact.Spin (p.104) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[F]rontman Tim Pagnotta keeps the party raging....His bandmates deliver a likable mix of new-wave guitars and brawny hard-rock riffs." Alternative Press (p.196) - "The disc is ruthlessly effective at mainstreaming punk-pop, with massive three-chord riffing [and] harmonies as thick as shag carpet..." | Lights Out Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) Awesome! I have only great words to say about this album. I think the entire cd is a great rockalbum from beginning to the end. I think "lights out" is the best Sugarcult album to date. But I also think it's one of the best albums in the genre of the year. And I can't see why anyone wouldn't love it. This band rocks!! But I would recomend the other 2 albums by them, they have way more great songs on them. I think people who stereotype take away from the bands individuality. They have a unique style of thier own, though I would classify them with bands like sum41 & yellowcard, because I love all those bands like this as well. Only for the style they have that punk rock edge and cool sound that makes a great addition to your music collection. I listen to the other 2 album they released a lot. This one is ok, but not near what the other two are, of course every artist has released a few not so good cds occasionally it happens to the best. Fearless Records ain't gettin it right There's a streamline going on here. What to decide? Are Plain White T's trying to be another Yellowcard in the making? I really don't have hope for Sugarcult unless a song hangs out in the balance on this album. I mean it's upbeat and everything. But hang on to that loose change for dear life! Other bands that Fearless made a good deal so far are Rock Kills Kid and A Static Lullaby. Stick to those, but this? Holy moly, Fearless! Don't be another Immortal! You guys are totally freakin me out here! Sheesh! Submitted by Hmmm ... (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Lights Out album
$10.39 Principally recorded at The Theater Studio & Mindswerve, New York, New York.
Mindless Self Indulgence's brilliantly named The Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy collects more of the group's outré, hip-hop-tinged industrial thrash. Singer Urine's bizarre falsetto sounds like a sped-up Jello Biafra, especially on tracks like "Boomin'" and ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Lights Out CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little ...
| | Sugarcult Palm Trees And Power Lines CD (2004)
Lights Out music CDs
$11.55 Sugarcult's debut album was an energetic slice of alternative-rock-flavored power-pop that also paid passing tribute to the band's Southern California punk-tinged brethren. With PALM TREES AND POWER LINES, the group introduces a more layered, varied sound, while still retaining enough hooks to fill a tackle box. While the sweetly melancholy "Back to California" uses a touch of trip-hop, "Destination Anywhere" recalls the driving drama of U2's "Bullet the Blue Sky." The album's final track, "Sign Off," is a disarmingly ...

| | John Pizzarelli Rare Delight Of You CD (2002)
Lights Out album
$13.29 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio Cd players.
John Pizzarelli teams with the George Shearing Quintet to reveal their unique musical chemistry on The Rare Delight of You, a 15-track gem filled with the ambience of such great composers as Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Harry Warren, and the master himself, George Shearing. Pizzarelli, a master of the Great American Songbook, showcases his musical heirlooms -- buoyant, loving vocals and quality guitar skills -- alongside Shearing's authentic and full-spirited piano savvy with brilliant insight and freedom of expression without exceeding the boundaries of the original compositions. The results are tender, expressive, jazz renderings that resound with taste and class. The best-selling guitarist and his wife, Jessica Molaskey, co-wrote "I Predict" with Shearing and also co-wrote the title track, "The Rare Delight of You." The latter, a tender, love ballad with the potential to become a jazz standard, is a relaxing song that conjures a variety of loving moods. Among the more delightful and memorable ...
