2nd Crusade album for sale Product Description
2nd Crusade album for sale by Crusaders was released Aug 15, 2006 on the Blue Thumb label. Though they'd been together for two decades previous to this album, first as a straight ahead post-bop combo and then as one of the genre's premier soul-jazz outfits, by the time of this album's release in 1973, the Crusaders had become a byword for instrumental jazz-funk fusion. A treasure trove of early-'70s musical trends, this collection features the soft reggae overtones of "Look Beyond the Hill" and the urban funk of "A Message From the Inner City" and "Ain't Gon' Change a Thing," as well as a more traditional outing in the pulsating, bluesy "Take It Or Leave It." The Crusaders: Wilton Felder (saxophone, bass marimba, bass guitar); Wayne Henderson (trombone); Joe Sample (keyboards); Nesbert Hooper Jr. 2nd Crusade CD music contains a single disc with 13 songs. ...See Full Description

abrupt ending How come the last song on the CD "Do You Remember When" ends very abruptly? Or is it just on my copy? And the beginning is unusual as well. By Blackbird (Europe)
This is true Crusaders at their best! I am partial to this album because I owned it on vinyl. It is a excellent work by these jazz musicians. By big_c_lover (Brooklyn, NY)
Crusaders at their best Traditional and Fusion Jazz blending to provide that Crusader trade mark sound. Wilton Felder can be heard clearly on the Sax with his style, and not to be outdone is Joe Sample classic Keyboard rhythm. By eanigbogu (Monmouth Junction, New Jersey)
When you count your blessings, include this album The person who commented earlier about the ending of "Do You Remember When" should bear in mind that these sessions harken back to the heyday of analog tape recordings. By Jim (Portland, OR)
A rare hidden gem by the Crusaders An outstanding album by the Crusaders. Any person that owns this album will tell you there is not a bad song on this album. By a reviewer (Bedford Heights,Ohio) This review is for a different format.
