| | Tish Hinojosa Sign Of Truth CD (2000)
Such Dreams songs
$14.65 Tish Hinojosa has been ahead of the curve of some time. Her music is a superb amalgam of country, American and Mexican folk, Tex-Mex/conjunto, and pop, and she's a worthy contemporary of similar performers such as Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris and Peter Rowan. SIGN OF TRUTH is something of a departure from her earlier releases.
Here Hinjosa tries for a fuller "pop" sound, but it's pop in the Burt Bacharach/Brian Wilson mode, rather than in the Britney Spears sense, with more ...

| | Chris Michie Wild Parrots Of Telegraph Hill CD (2005)
Such Dreams music CDs
$13.85 Chris Michie was part of the Bay Area music scene from the time the Mendelbaum Blues Band arrived from Wisconsin in 1969. After playing with Lamb, Link Wray, The Pointer Sisters, Boz Skaggs, and Maria Muldaur, in 1981 he recorded an album for Van Morrison, subsequently recording four more and touring extensively with Van. He also released several albums of his own material and performed frequently in the area. In 2000, at a birthday party at a friend's house, Chris met Judy Irving. She was just completing filming a documentary about the wild parrots roosting on Telegraph Hill. With her that night was the human star of the film, Mark Bittner, who, it turned out, was a big fan of Van Morrison, and specifically of Chris' music. Mark and Chris struck up a conversation and ended up jamming at the party to the delight of everyone present. A few days later, Judy called Chris asking if he could help her get clearance for the Van songs she wanted to use for her film. Chris suggested ...
| | Headroom Project Apa Ya CD (2006)
Such Dreams songs
$15.15 APA YAThe music of APA YA follows the previous album ('Ciri a Doro'), adding new colours to the spectrum of electronic world music. Again, the sound of The Headroom Projects is full of vividness and will convince every audio gourmet. The range of musicial inspriation is enormous and leads from exotic acapella chants over jazz/funk elements to the uncredible power of unique electronic beats.Review of the album „Apa Ya' in Soundbase Online, july 2005:(Deutsche Version unten)Due to his extraordinary sensitivity for the entire spectrum of world music, Andreas Ecker aka THE HEADROOM PROJECT easily succeeds in making his album sound international. The 14 songs link the continents effortlessly and in an elegant way: world music is combined with jazzy, electronic and funky elements without loosing its ethnic origin. Lovers of typical oriental sounds will enjoy „Egyptian Wedding'. Oriental drums are whirling around and one can virtually feel the scorching heat of the Sinai. „Hayi Sera' presents an unique mixture of Jazz and ethnic sounds while „Funky Funky' -as the title suggests- is based on funky rhythms, which serve as a background for shaman voices. One marvellous track also is „Uuh My Son', a composition of electronic beats combined with light atmospheric sounds that blend into a gentle roar of the surf and which seems predestined to be used as a movie soundtrack. In fact it is not always easy to figure out at which musical station one stops at a given moment!here's a challenge for the professional world music listener, who will know where he is by means of deciphering language and music. Nonetheless, those who do not care about ethnical origin will enjoy a final fusion of cultures, undertaking a journey all around the globe without drifting off to plain folk music. THE HEADROOM PROJECT aka Andreas Ecker has been recording experimental electronic music for over 20 years and is influenced by such artists as King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel, Fred Frith, Aqsak Maboul, ...
| | John Callahan Purple Winos In The Rain CD (2006)
Such Dreams album
$12.29 John Callahan (born during July of 1951 in Portland, Oregon), is a cartoonist noted for dealing with macabre subjects or physical disabilities, maiming and dismemberment. Rendered quadriplegic by an automobile accident, Callahan draws his cartoons by clutching a pen between both hands. His artistic style is simplistic and often rough, though still legible and humorous. It has been likened to that of William Steig, James Thurber, and Ben Wicks. Callahan's cartoons deal with subjects ...
| | Adriane Blanco CD (2008)
Such Dreams CD music
$10.59 Rock 'n' roll and alternative country combine with the British Invasion sound, to lay the foundation for inspirational lyrics and melodies in Adriane Blanco's self-titled debut. His song "In Your Arms" earned him a #1 spot on KBCU-FM 88.1, with it's reflective tone and soothing harmonies. He has also made the top 20 of indieheaven with high energy songs like his indie-pop love song "Near Me", parable rock anthem "I Am Loved" and the driving rock of "The Real Me". The 13 song album was produced by Patrick Andrew of the Grammy Award-nominated and GMA Dove Award-winning band 'PFR' (Pray For Rain). Adriane Blanco was born in Tucson, Arizona to an ethnically diverse family of his Mexican father and American mother. Knowing he wanted to make a difference in this world through music from the time ...
