This film is a touchingly funny look at the life of Del Richards (Steven Chster Prince), a trade magazine writer stuck in a dead-end job, and how his life changes when a corporate barracuda (Martha Byrnes) throws him into the middle of a corporate takeover. Del is forced to contend with a quickly-losing-it hippie mother (Jill Haworth), his bitter banker brother (Brian Vander Ark, lead singer of The Verve Pipe), a suspicious best friend (Lee Tergessen), and a new girlfriend (Lysa Apostle), who may not be who she claims to be. This gentle comedy follows the mundane life of Del Richards, a man who works for a trade magazine in the home improvement world. Dissatisfied with how things have turned out but not knowing what to do about it, Richards suddenly finds his life altering in unexpected ways as a corporate takeover and a new girlfriend enter his life.
