| | Smooth Grooves: New Jack Ballads Vol. 2 CD (1998)
Stranglaz Bad Influence album
$9.29 Like its predecessor, Smooth Grooves: New Jack Ballads, Vol. 2 leans toward conventional urban R&B from the late '80s and early '90s instead of the hip-hop-inflected contemporary R&B that came to define new jack R&B. Even if the music on Vol. 2 isn't strictly new jack R&B, it's nevertheless first-rate urban soul, one of the best, most comprehensive discs of its kind on the market, featuring such hits as Guy's "Piece of My Love," Ready for the World's "Tonight," Force M.D.'s' ...

| | Floormodel Random Access Memories CD (2008)
Stranglaz Bad Influence CD music
$13.89 Jeff Caudill (ex-Gameface) & David Stoll come to you from two separate continents and time zones, meeting only in cyberspace to create memorable electro-pop songs. David Stoll (known for his solo material as THE BEEP), a pixel pushing beatsmith from Germany saw singer/songwriter Jeff Caudill in Solingen, Germany while Jeff was on a solo tour in the winter of '06. Stoll was a longtime fan of Caudill's previous band, GAMEFACE (seminal '90s indie pop-punk). David emailed Jeff and talked about possibly collaborating some day. Hundreds of e-mails and uploads later, the duo now known as FLOORMODEL was born. Although it's primarily made with laptops and electronic devices, FLOORMODEL has a heart as well as a CPU. With his highly-memorable voice and guitar, Caudill brings his American pop delivery to new sonic landscapes and adds a vulnerable element to electronic music.from jeffcaudill -'I knew nothing about electronic music except that I liked The Postal Service album and I used to listen to Depeche Mode and OMD when I was in high school. He emailed me some really interesting loops he created and asked if I could come up with some vocals, record them and send them back...The next day he sent the song with my vocals and guitars beautifully placed, sliced, cut and pasted into the song and it was done. It was music. So, we repeated the process again, and again. A year later we have 12 songs. And I love each and every one of them...It's so strange to think that I made a record with someone I haven't met. We did all the creative directing and debating without ever being in the same room together. It was a pretty amazing experience. ...
