NEXUS is a project run by singer/keyboard player Mike Pougounas, the drummer/computer guru Jim Stevis, and the bass and guitar player Costas Spanos.

While recording the album in the studio in Athens, the band picked the title 'The Beat Syndicate' because of the driving compositions mixed with dark bass-lines which formed and directed the melodies. Behind the dancy beat that teeters on gothic's edge, Mike's vocals are deep and dark.
