| | 12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 CD (1 Customer Review)
Each volume in the 12 Inches of MicMac series compiles two discs of tracks released by Mickey Garcia's long-running freestyle label. Since the tracks are unmixed, these sets provide those who don't buy (or spin) the vinyl releases an opportunity to own the tracks in full, rather than within the context of a DJ mix. Collectors will also be pleased with Garcia's decision to include the extended versions of the tracks, which -- apart from a really well-done, ego-less DJ mix -- is the best way to experience this form of club music. Some of the tracks included on the third volume of the series are Nancy Otero's "I Dedicate My Love to You," Johnny O's "Memories," Bobby Coleman's "Must Be the Magic," and Cynthia's "Endless Nights." ~ Andy Kellman 12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 Music 12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 Songs 12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 Music Review Purchase 12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | 12 Inches Of Micmac Vol. 2 CDs (2006)

12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 CD music
$11.39 Once again mixed by M.A.N.D.Y, the duo at the heart and soul of the label, Get Physical's next anniversary label comp is another great overview of the label's upbeat, sly and often quite emotional way with techno in the early 21st century. With a wider range of artists than the previous comp, a reflection of the label's greater success and cachet over time, this edition is no less compelling as both a hit-the-dancefloor energizer and a standalone listening experience, with M.A.N.D.Y.'s skill at creating a good overall experience again evident. Pole position ...

| | Paul Brown White Sand CD (2007)
12 Inches Of Mic Mac Vol. 3 album
$11.25 Smooth jazz producer, arranger, and songwriter Paul Brown made the transition to recording artist with 2004's Up Front, which, like its successor, 2005's The City, was a Top Ten hit on the Contemporary Jazz chart. With a switch from GRP to Peak Records, Brown should continue his popular ways with his third solo album White Sand. He has enlisted more guests than usual this time, to the point that the disc is practically one of those "and friends" duets collections. Al Jarreau sings on "Make Me Feel So Good," Bobby Caldwell on a cover of "Mercy Mercy Mercy," and Lina on a cover of "I Say a Little Prayer." Among the star instrumentalists, Boney James is heard on "Ol' Skoolin'," David Benoit on "R 'n' B Bump," Euge Groove on "More or Less Paul," Rick Braun on "Mr. Cool," and saxophone newcomer Jessy J on the title track. The guests simply augment the contributions of the leader, however; Brown's guitar is a dominant instrument, and he has a vocal on a cover of "For What It's Worth." As the familiar titles indicate, he has taken inspiration from ...

Intelligent and imaginative, highly atmospheric, steeped in mist and melancholy, but most of all, full of driving dance music 'The Beat Syndicate' is the group's masterpiece. After three albums of gothic-industrial madness, NEXUS returns with an album that shines so brightly and colourfully - a true kick in the balls for clubland snobs. NEXUS is a project run by singer/keyboard player Mike Pougounas, the drummer/computer guru Jim Stevis, and the bass and guitar player Costas Spanos. While recording the album in the studio in Athens, the band picked the title 'The Beat Syndicate' because of the driving compositions mixed with dark bass-lines which formed and directed the melodies. Behind the dancy beat that teeters on gothic's edge, Mike's vocals are deep and dark. With the 100% club hit titled 'Drop The Luv Bomb', NEXUS spins off heart-stopping tracks such as 'You Always Get A Second Chance' and the fleshier arrangements of 'Saviours Own Slump'. Once again, they have opted to give it electronified gothic with wit, wild statements, and stormy guitars with the track 'Addicted To Ya'. 'High Heels On Wheels' unveils the band as a spiked synthetic pop unit of considerable merit that can jump from the sublime elegance of the minimalistic ...
