The full-length debut by the Devil Wears Prada shows that as dubious as the concept of Christian metal might sound to the unconvinced (and/or the unsaved), it's not necessarily an intrinsically bad idea. This Dayton quintet is fairly wide-ranging in its influences, flavoring the standard blastbeats-and-unison-riffs template songs with keyboards out of European symphonic metal, emo-tinged clean vocals (courtesy of guitarist Jeremy DePoyster) and, most surprisingly, a sense of playfulness that's largely missing from both CCM and metal. Even aside from some jokey song titles ("Who Speaks Spanish, Colon Quesadilla"), there's a lightness of spirit evident in these songs that elevates Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord above the standard-issue metal ghetto. Listed as another up an coming favourite (and also proving it by the way) The Devil Wears Prada impresses even the most skeptical with its left field un structured riffs, to its vocalised raw distortion. Definatly for fans of The Chariot, Converge, and The Rivalry.

 Nothing Less than Sweet!
The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favorite bands ever. They really know what people wnat to hear. They got everything right on this one and i look forward to their next album.

 There is a slight setback
But the album can carry that vocal footwork that is very reminiscent of A Static Lullaby is doing on their S/T. I've managed to shuffle at least 6 tracks culled from this CD. There's at least two tracks that are overburdened and overwrought. But just to hear another Still Remains? That's a burning question to ask from a little-known label that they carry from. Could use a proper concept for context on their next album.

this cd is my favorite and I know someone who is related to the lead singer, Mike. they're so heavy and I bet their concerts are the best, at least they look like it. MY FAVORITE.
